MONSTER ENERGY M-100 GHOST
The appearance of the M-100 series Ghost has a distinct fake-like vibe. Even after it was released, I felt a sense of discomfort until I actually got my hands on it in the U.S., and even up until the moment I drank it, I still felt that way. But once I tried it, everything started to make sense. This is my review of the M-100 Ghost.

In 2001, while living in the United States, I encountered energy drinks through the dance scene and was deeply impressed. After returning to Japan, I found that energy drinks were considered novelty beverages, so I established a comprehensive website in 2013 to share the true appeal of energy drinks. As an energy drink enthusiast, I began drinking them seriously again, collecting over 7,000 varieties of energy drinks from various countries. I am also active as a critic and expert, receiving media interviews.
Flavor of MONSTER ENERGY M-100 GHOST
Upon opening, I didn’t really notice any strong aroma. When poured into a glass, a slightly cloudy yellow liquid with a faint citrus scent wafts up.
When I took a sip, it tasted like something I had become familiar with… Simply put, it has a sweet flavor like Mountain Dew or Lifeguard, mixed with a medicinal taste similar to that of Oronamin C. I’m sure this description alone conveys the taste of M-100 Ghost.
Like the M-100 Phantom, it has a classic flavor with a consistent, decent taste. However, if I were asked whether I would buy this for $2, my answer would be NO...
Energy Ingredients of MONSTER ENERGY M-100 GHOST
It contains 100mg of caffeine, taurine, carnitine, ginseng, guarana, and the usual Monster Energy blend.
What’s interesting about the M-100 series is its focus on the number 100.
Why they chose to emphasize the number 100 is unclear, but it seems they’ve made the caffeine 100mg, the Vitamin B content 100% of the daily recommended amount, and the calorie count 100kcal. Compared to regular Monster Energy, it might be seen as a downgrade in terms of ingredients, but I don’t think there’s much of a noticeable difference.
Design of MONSTER ENERGY M-100 GHOST
The can features a camouflage design with a rough texture.
The Monster logo, the word "Ghost," and the "M-100" text have a slight awkwardness, like they were printed on with an inkjet printer, which is exactly how it appeared in the leaked images. Even when holding the can, it feels a bit sloppy.
Compared to the later released Rockstar Revolt, it feels like it was made quite carelessly. The balance of colors on the M-100 Ghost is also a bit off.
The Monster logo and "Ghost" text, which seem to float against the camouflage pattern, are probably chosen to match the color of the contents.
The silver top with a green tab... I think a colored top would have been a better choice.
