The MUTANT SUPER SODA, released in 2016 in the U.S., was a bottled product from Monster Energy. Although it was released under the Monster Energy logo, it was marketed as a separate brand. The same product was later launched in Canada, but it didn't gain much traction and was eventually discontinued.

Mountain Dew-like Lime Soda Flavor

When you take a sip, it immediately reminds you of Mountain Dew with its sweet limeade flavor. There's no lime tang or sharpness, and since it's lightly carbonated, it lacks the refreshing zing, leaving the sweet taste somewhat monotonous. Perhaps a stronger carbonation would have made it better. It’s hard to take seriously when it’s called a “super soda.” Σ(´∀｀；)

Drinking a whole bottle (591ml) in one go can be a challenge. If you pour it into a glass with ice and chill it, the refreshing sensation improves, making it much easier to drink.

Contains 115mg of caffeine. However, it doesn’t contain any other energy-boosting ingredients, so its energy content is somewhat lacking.

It’s also relatively high in carbohydrates, with 74g per bottle, which means you should be cautious of overconsumption due to the risk of excess sugar intake.

The bottle has a simple, green semi-transparent plastic design with a black label. I wish they had paid more attention to the quality of the label—it feels a bit cheap, which is surprising for a premium energy drink.

The Mutant series features a uniquely shaped bottle with an ergonomic design for better grip.

The contoured grip and futuristic look of the bottle design make it stand out. It's a great branding choice for the North American Monster Mutant series.

From the outside of the store to the fridge, everything was decorated in Deadpool style. It's fun to experience this kind of atmosphere when you’re there in person.

The Mutant series, which was released in the U.S. and Canada, aimed to compete with Mountain Dew, but after launching three flavors, it was ultimately discontinued. Meanwhile, Mountain Dew continued releasing new flavors. Considering the price, design, and original brand positioning, it seems that Mutant didn’t have a chance of winning.

These are three Deadpool collaboration flavors I found at a convenience store in Manhattan. By this time, the Mutant series had already been discontinued, but some remained unsold. This suggests the series didn’t really take off.

A special Mutant box was distributed to industry professionals. It was designed to resemble the machine that created Mutant, and it even featured LED lights that made the contents of the bottle glow beautifully. It was quite well done. Looking at this brings back memories of getting one in LA (*´ｪ`*)

While the Mutant series had interesting bottle designs and concepts, and relatively active promotions, the flavors were somewhat cheap, and it was hard to find a compelling reason to choose Mutant. It seems like more people would have preferred grabbing a Mountain Dew bottle from the nearby fridge.
