When you open it, the scent of fruit punch spreads. It's clearly a different aroma from the American MIXXD. Unlike a juice-like smell, this one is distinctly punch-flavored, just as the product name suggests.

When poured into a glass, the color is a red punch-like shade. It's hard to tell from the photo, but it's not the thick, eye-watering red typical of punch drinks. It's a brighter, slightly orange-tinged red, and it appears less intense compared to the typical fruit punch color seen in America.

Now, let's try the EU-released PUNCH MIXXD and see what it tastes like.

Upon tasting, it has a pleasantly light sweetness with a punch flavor. Unlike traditional fruit punch, the flavor is softer, and some might say it's lacking in punch. The reason is that it doesn't go all out with the punch flavor.

If it's too cold, the sweetness fades and the flavor becomes hard to grasp, but if you sip it slowly, you'll gradually get accustomed to the sweetness and tropical fruit flavors buried within the punch. The taste mainly consists of fruity, sweet flavors like mango, banana, and apple, leaving a lingering aftertaste of crushed fruit sweetness and punch flavor.

I don't think it's entirely accurate to call PUNCH MIXXD a traditional fruit punch. I would describe it more as a blend of sweet, soft tropical fruit mix and punch flavor. Since it's different from the usual fruit punch flavor, let's forget the conventional idea of fruit punch for PUNCH MIXXD.

It might be more natural to interpret it as a fruit mix flavor with a hint of punch. For me, the sweet and soft flavors of mango, banana, and apple mix beautifully with the punch, and I quite enjoy this flavor.

PUNCH MIXXD is best when it's not overly chilled, not downed in one go, and drunk slowly. If it's too cold or chugged, it just ends up being a mild punch flavor with little aroma, which would be a shame.

It contains 160mg of caffeine, 2000mg of taurine, 10mg of guarana, and 40mg of ginseng.

Despite being a punch-flavored drink, it doesn't have an excessive amount of sugar—46g for a 500ml can. It also contains several types of fruit juices, including apple, cherry, cranberry, banana, and mango, with a 5.3% fruit juice content.

Generally, fruit juices are used to enhance the punch flavor, but in the case of PUNCH MIXXD, the sweetness of the fruit mix is very enjoyable.

Design of MONSTER ENERGY PUNCH MIXXD

The punch mark, resembling a boxing glove, seems to be carried over from the American Punch Monster series. Though, the flavor doesn’t really pack much of a punch.

The can features a simple pink design on a jet-black background, which was quite striking when it was released in the UK. The product name “MIXXD” especially reminds me of the fruit juice-infused MONSTER ENERGY MIXXD that was discontinued early in the US, making the initial release feel somewhat strange.

Once you drink it, you'll realize that the European PUNCH MIXXD is completely different from the American version, but it was fun to imagine what kind of product it could be before tasting it.

A black ring pull. I think the pink pull tab would look cooler, but this is the usual style for the EU. If it had been released in America, it would almost certainly have a pink pull tab.
