MONSTER ENERGY Rehab PEACH TEA

Posted on July 31, 2015 | Last updated February 13, 2025

Rehab Peach Tea
This is a review of MONSTER ENERGY Rehab PEACH TEA, which debuted as the first new product in 2015.

It's a refreshing fruit tea series with a gentle fragrance, but this time the fruit flavor is particularly strong, making it even more refreshing than before. Let’s dive into the detailed review.

In 2001, while living in the United States, I encountered energy drinks through the dance scene and was deeply impressed. After returning to Japan, I found that energy drinks were considered novelty beverages, so I established a comprehensive website in 2013 to share the true appeal of energy drinks. As an energy drink enthusiast, I began drinking them seriously again, collecting over 7,000 varieties of energy drinks from various countries. I am also active as a critic and expert, receiving media interviews.

Flavor of MONSTER ENERGY Rehab PEACH TEA

This is a photo taken when I first reviewed MONSTER ENERGY Rehab PEACH TEA when it was released. The design has changed, but I’m keeping it here so you can still feel the vibe from when it was first launched.

Now, let’s dive into the detailed review of the flavor.

First, shake it well to mix the contents before opening. As soon as I open it, a burst of peach fragrance hits me. The aroma of tea is almost nonexistent. When poured, you can see the characteristic "divine powder" of Rehab swirling around.

When I taste it, the sweet and gentle peach flavor spreads across my palate... The flavor of tea leaves is very subtle, so it doesn’t feel out of place even when called a peach-flavored drink. On the other hand, if it were called peach tea, I would have preferred a bit more of the tea leaf flavor.

Personally, I enjoy the balance of this peach tea with a slight tea leaf fragrance, and it’s my favorite in the Rehab series.

The refreshing taste without carbonation is wonderful, and it’s just the right drink to quench your thirst on a hot summer day. Even apart from the fact that it’s a fruit tea, I felt that this peach flavor, which is low in sugar and calories, is really high-quality.

MONSTER ENERGY Rehab PEACH TEA from Canada

This is the Canadian version of Rehab PEACH TEA that I got during my 2023 trip. It features both English and French text.

The flavor base is the same as the American version, but the Canadian version seems to have a slightly richer peach flavor (though I haven’t compared them side by side, it’s just a feeling). The tea flavor is still light, and you can enjoy the gentle and fresh peach taste. The caffeine content is higher at 170mg, compared to the American version.

MONSTER ENERGY Rehab PEACH TEA from South Africa

This is the South African version of MONSTER ENERGY Rehab PEACH TEA that I purchased in New Zealand in 2024. The fresh peach fruit aroma and the refreshing taste of tea leaves are perfectly matched, making it an excellent flavor.

Energy Ingredients of MONSTER ENERGY Rehab PEACH TEA

MONSTER ENERGY Rehab PEACH TEA
When it was first released in 2015, it contained 158mg of caffeine, which is a standard amount, and included ingredients like taurine, ginseng, guarana, and quercetin. The current version, which has been renewed, contains 160mg of caffeine.
Quercetin, a polyphenol, is known for its high antioxidant properties. While it doesn’t seem to be present in large amounts, it’s still interesting that such ingredients are included.
The sugar content is low, and the drink achieves a fresh and delicious flavor. With the addition of 3% fruit juice, including peach, as well as coconut water, it helps create a smooth peach flavor.

Design of MONSTER ENERGY Rehab PEACH TEA

The Rehab series has undergone a design overhaul, and it now features a simple orange and black design. The previous energy drink-like, Monster Energy-style vibe has been replaced with a more generic, simple design, which I find disappointing.

On the back, you’ll find functional icons lined up for some reason. The silhouette icons and text in the Monster Energy series aren’t very polished, which gives them a bit of an awkward feel. It also now gives off more of a sports drink vibe, losing the cool impression of a refreshing lifestyle energy drink.

Comparing the Design of MONSTER ENERGY Rehab PEACH TEA from 2015

Let’s compare the design of the classic MONSTER ENERGY Rehab PEACH TEA released in 2015.
Design of MONSTER ENERGY Rehab PEACH TEA
Of course, which design you prefer is a matter of personal taste, but I still like the classic old design better. When I lived in America, I remember the excitement of thinking, "There’s something dangerous in this, and the taste might be more intense than I imagined…"

The old design had an energy poem, but the new flat design replaced it with functional icons, which means the energy poem is now gone.

While I don’t necessarily miss the energy poem, I do wish the icons in the new design had a better sense of style (^_^;)

Here’s a bit more about the Rehab PEACH TEA and the Rehab series from 2015.
Rehab Peach Tea
In 2015, the Rehab PEACH TEA can featured the label "ENERGY ICED TEA" on the top.

It seems that it was originally supposed to be labeled as "ICED TEA" just before the release.

For a short period, other flavors in the Rehab series also had the "ICED TEA" label, but eventually, everything was unified under the "ENERGY ICED TEA" label.

If you think about it, for most general consumers who are not familiar with Monster Energy, even though "Rehab" is written large, they wouldn’t necessarily know that this is an energy tea. I think it was a good decision to display "ENERGY ICED TEA" prominently on the can top to make it clearer that you’re getting a fruit tea flavor without carbonation.
