In 2001, while living in the United States, I encountered energy drinks through the dance scene and was deeply impressed. After returning to Japan, I found that energy drinks were considered novelty beverages, so I established a comprehensive website in 2013 to share the true appeal of energy drinks. As an energy drink enthusiast, I began drinking them seriously again, collecting over 7,000 varieties of energy drinks from various countries. I am also active as a critic and expert, receiving media interviews.

Sweet Cranberry Flavor with a Tea Base

The scent is all about tea. Since I'm not a fan of tea, I felt a bit of resistance at first.

When poured into a glass, it has a strong, cloudy reddish-brown color. I was expecting a clearer red, so my first impression was, "Is this okay...?" (^_^;)

When I tried it, I mainly noticed the tea scent, but the sweet fruit tea flavor was surprisingly refreshing. Although it seems that cranberry juice is included, it doesn't overpower the taste. The refreshing flavor is unexpected given the cloudy red color.

By the way, the tea flavor is quite light. If you expect a strong tea taste, it might feel a bit lacking, but for me, this level was fine.

It's a bit hard to say if it's really a cranberry flavor, but the sweet fruity taste is surprisingly easy to drink, and once you get used to it, you'll find yourself drinking it down quickly.

At first, I found it a bit off-putting and strongly disliked it, but after drinking a few, I could easily drink it without any resistance. It refreshes the throat nicely, and I think ROJO TEA, along with other Rehab series drinks, is perfect for when you want something light to quench your thirst.

It seems like ROJO TEA isn’t very popular, but when surrounded by thick and intense energy drinks all the time, I do find myself craving ROJO TEA and other Rehab series drinks occasionally.

Energy Ingredients of MONSTER ENERGY Rehab ROJO TEA

It contains 161mg of caffeine, taurine, ginseng, carnitine, guarana, and an energy blend. It also includes 5% cranberry juice.
The calorie content is just 20kcal, which is surprising given its sweetness (u_u*).

The drink is in a 458ml can, which is smaller than the usual 473ml, because it should be shaken before drinking. Although ROJO TEA doesn’t stand out much, you can still see the fine powdery residue typical of the Rehab series.

Red Tea Rojo Tea

If you read ROJO as romaji, it would be "Rojo," but in Spanish, it’s read as "Rojo," which means “red.” Therefore, it literally translates to “Red Tea” in Spanish.

Before I introduced it here in 2014, many people weren’t sure how to pronounce it.

However, I feel the taste might be different from the typical “Rojo Tea” you might find elsewhere. That’s because the Rehab series, including this one, tends to have lighter flavors mixed with tea.

This flavor and scent should be recognized as Monster Rehab’s Rojo Tea.
