Flavor of Watermelon with Lingering Tartness

Although it looks rich in the photo, it's actually a bright red. When poured into a glass, a sweet watermelon syrup-like scent fills the air. Despite being Zero Sugar, the aroma is surprisingly strong.

Now, let's take a sip. The sweetness is subdued, with the watermelon flavor leaning more toward tartness. The sourness stands out much more than I expected. I had imagined a sweeter, more artificial watermelon flavor, so this came as a surprise.

There is no grassy aroma, which is common in Western watermelon flavors, so even Japanese people will likely enjoy this without any strange aftertaste. Personally, I find the sweet, fleshy aroma of Ultra Watermelon more pleasant than the melon-like scent, making it easier to drink.

The tartness caught my attention at first, but as the balance between the sweetness and aroma came together, I was able to enjoy the watermelon flavor without feeling odd. The smooth texture typical of Zero Sugar drinks is also a nice touch.

The absence of a strong artificial sweetener taste is almost unnoticeable. Since it isn't too sweet, chilling it thoroughly provides a refreshing throat sensation, making it an excellent choice for a summer watermelon energy drink to gulp down.

The German version of MONSTER ENERGY ULTRA WATERMELON has a slightly lighter, natural tone. The flavor matches the color, with a generally subtle taste and a faint artificial sweetener aftertaste. There is no melon-like odor, just like the American version.

It contains 150mg of caffeine, taurine, ginseng, and carnitine, among other ingredients. The caffeine content is on the lower side.

Design of MONSTER ENERGY ULTRA WATERMELON

The surface of the can features a textured finish, offering a contrast to the mirror-silver material.

Green is used in some areas, evoking the colors associated with watermelon.

However, the artwork on the red can, done in mirror-silver, depicts "fireworks" rather than "watermelon." Fireworks are depicted bursting on both sides of the can.

As you can tell from this design, Ultra Watermelon was created with a summer theme in mind. The flavor itself has a refreshing, summer-like watermelon taste. However, the new product debuted in September, after summer had already passed... (^_^;)

If it had been released in June or July, it might have made for an interesting summer-themed new product, also tying in with "July 4th" fireworks! I can imagine it being a fun launch for that time of year (*´艸｀*)

The green top evokes the image of watermelon rind. The red can with a green top is the perfect watermelon representation!

The combination of the black tab and green tab also mimics the appearance of a watermelon rind. The can as a whole represents a watermelon, making it a piece of artwork in itself.

スイカバーのことを期待しながら飲んでみたら、がっかり…
甘さよりは酸味が強くてスイカの香りが感じにくくなりました。
韓国版のウルトラ・パラダイスからきゅうりの香りを感じたっていう人々に向いて
これこそがきゅうりの香りだっつの！と言いたい感じ。
柔らかく揺らして炭酸を抜いてもスイカというよりはイチゴというか？分からない香り。
ほかのウルトラシリーズのようにもっと抽象的である名づけがよかったんじゃないかと思います。
