In 2001, while living in the United States, I encountered energy drinks through the dance scene and was deeply impressed. After returning to Japan, I found that energy drinks were considered novelty beverages, so I established a comprehensive website in 2013 to share the true appeal of energy drinks. As an energy drink enthusiast, I began drinking them seriously again, collecting over 7,000 varieties of energy drinks from various countries. I am also active as a critic and expert, receiving media interviews.
Flavor of MUSCLE MONSTER ENERGY SHAKE VANILLA BOTTLE
After shaking it well, the inside turned out unexpectedly smooth. The scent is that of a sweet protein vanilla shake.
When I drank it, the flavor was more of a sweet milk taste than a vanilla flavor. It’s not a watery liquid, but it has a smooth texture with no particular heaviness, only a slight difference compared to creamy coffee-flavored drinks. The sweetness is also mild, so it’s easy to drink.
There’s no powdery texture, and it has dissolved well with no distinctive protein flavor. When chilled well, it’s a type you can drink quickly.
The bottle's opening is just the right size—neither too big to spill nor too small—and you can drink it all at once without any worry.
Energy Ingredients of MUSCLE MONSTER ENERGY SHAKE VANILLA BOTTLE
It contains 157mg of caffeine, taurine, and carnitine. There’s also 27g of protein, which is a sufficient amount.
Many pre-workout supplements for muscle training contain caffeine, so if you drink this along with them, you should be cautious about the potential for excessive caffeine intake.
Design of MUSCLE MONSTER ENERGY SHAKE VANILLA BOTTLE
The bottle is entirely covered with a label.
Peel off the cap part...
When you open the bottle cap, it’s sealed with aluminum. The bottle cap wasn’t tightly fixed and opened quite easily, which surprised me at first (^_^;)
Unlike the previous cans of the Muscle Monster series, this bottle has a functional logo, giving it more of a drink chosen for its functionality rather than just an energy drink, similar to the Hydro series released at the same time.
The simple and clear "27g of protein" label is easier to read compared to the cans.
The curved design, with the silver brand logo and black ingredient label, is beautifully separated, and there’s no "narrative" text like with Monster Energy drinks, which I personally like for its simplicity.
Comparison with the Old Muscle Monster Vanilla
Let’s compare the old Muscle Monster Vanilla in the can with the new vanilla in the bottle.
I was surprised by how different the colors are. Personally, I like the color of the new vanilla better. If it’s too dark, it doesn’t feel like vanilla anymore Σ(´∀`;)
The big difference between the old and new is the "overall thickness." The old vanilla was rich and dense, with a noticeable sense of something dissolved in the liquid. On the other hand, the new vanilla is well-mixed, making it easier to drink. Although the protein content has increased by 2g, the texture and throat feel of the new vanilla are much lighter and more drinkable.
By the way, the characteristic solid pieces of the Muscle Monster series are present in both types, but after shaking both thoroughly and pouring them into glasses, the can left solid pieces.
On the right side of the glass is the new vanilla I reviewed, while the left glass is the old can version. It seems that improvements have been made here.
After trying both, I can’t go back to the old vanilla anymore. While the series and flavor are the same, the revamped bottle version of Muscle Monster Vanilla has been completely transformed, and it’s much easier to drink, making protein intake more accessible for anyone.
The price is a bit of a downside, but if you can easily get 27g of protein, I think it’s worth it. Above all, it’s much easier to drink than making a protein shake from powder!
