PUNCH MONSTER MANGO LOCO
This is the review of PUNCH MONSTER MANGO LOCO, released in Canada in 2018.
In Canada, products that do not contain 100% fruit juice cannot be labeled as "JUICE," which is why the series name is different from the U.S. version and is called "PUNCH MONSTER."

In 2001, while living in the United States, I encountered energy drinks through the dance scene and was deeply impressed. After returning to Japan, I found that energy drinks were considered novelty beverages, so I established a comprehensive website in 2013 to share the true appeal of energy drinks. As an energy drink enthusiast, I began drinking them seriously again, collecting over 7,000 varieties of energy drinks from various countries. I am also active as a critic and expert, receiving media interviews.
Flavor of PUNCH MONSTER MANGO LOCO
Once opened, the sweet mango scent bursts out immediately. The sweet, rich aroma is no different from the American MANGO LOCO, and many people will likely smile as soon as they open it. Drin-kun is one of them (*´艸`*)
Now, let's take a sip. The taste is exactly as expected—sweet and thick mango juice as the main flavor, with pineapple, papaya, and other fruits added to create a fruit mix flavor.
The sweet, rich mango tropical flavor spreads in your mouth with a slight carbonation bite, passing through your nose. This keeps it from feeling like a one-dimensional, heavy tropical fruit flavor and adds a refreshing crispness that may be the secret to MANGO LOCO's deliciousness.
If you're not averse to sweet tropical fruit flavors, most people will probably say it tastes great. It's that well-crafted and delicious (●´ω`●)
Energy Ingredients of PUNCH MONSTER MANGO LOCO
Contains 151mg of caffeine, 2000mg of taurine, 400mg of ginseng, and 10mg of inositol.
Although the fruit juice content is not listed, like other Canadian products, it contains mango, guava, white grape, apple, pineapple, orange, peach, lemon, and passion fruit. There are so many varieties that it's almost tiring just writing them all down.
Juice Monster vs Punch Monster Comparison
I compared the American JUICE MONSTER MANGO LOCO and the Canadian PUNCH MONSTER MANGO LOCO. The left is the American version, and the right is the Canadian version.
When placed side by side, the color intensity is different. The American version on the left is a much more intense color.
In fact, when I poured the Punch Monster into a glass, I wondered, "Wasn't MANGO LOCO this bright yellow?" and it turns out I wasn't mistaken. I was also surprised that Juice Monster was this concentrated.
The difference in cloudiness is also noticeable from the top. On the left is the American Juice, and on the right is the Canadian Punch.
Now, let's try them. The moment I took a sip of the American Juice, I could immediately feel the thick, rich fruit juice texture, which was clearly different from the Punch Monster. The difference was obvious. Since I had just reviewed the Canadian Punch, I was surprised by how much more concentrated the American Juice was.
This difference in concentration wasn't just limited to MANGO LOCO but was also apparent in Ripper and Chaos. In each case, the American Juice was more concentrated than the Canadian Punch.
Both are incredibly delicious, but if I had to choose one to drink regularly, I might go with the refreshing Canadian Punch Monster. The crisp and refreshing taste makes it less likely to get tiresome for me as a regular drinker.
On the other hand, the American Juice, with its 16% fruit juice, really amazed me with its incredible recreation of a fresh-squeezed or pureed taste. If you're looking to slowly savor the mango flavor, the Juice would likely be the choice.
By the way, there are significant differences in the can designs.
The front of the Juice and Punch cans are as you may already know, but notice that the direction of the knife piercing the heart is different. I wonder if there was a need to change such details.
Moreover, the skull in the top left has a different design, and there are several other subtle differences. It's interesting to see all the small differences, even though they could have just copied the illustration and changed the text for each country (●´ω`●)
The pull tab is light blue, the same as the American version. The design is striking, and it's no surprise that the taste doesn't fall short of the bold design, as expected from Monster Energy.
