PUNCH MONSTER RIPPER
In 2016, the "PUNCH MONSTER" series was launched in Canada, featuring fruit juice-infused products. One of these is the PUNCH MONSTER RIPPER that I will review today. This time, I also compared it with the original U.S. JUICE MONSTER RIPPER.

In 2001, while living in the United States, I encountered energy drinks through the dance scene and was deeply impressed. After returning to Japan, I found that energy drinks were considered novelty beverages, so I established a comprehensive website in 2013 to share the true appeal of energy drinks. As an energy drink enthusiast, I began drinking them seriously again, collecting over 7,000 varieties of energy drinks from various countries. I am also active as a critic and expert, receiving media interviews.
Flavor of PUNCH MONSTER RIPPER
The sweet pineapple scent that bursts out as soon as you open the can is something I can never get tired of experiencing... I think the color of the can also hints at pineapple, so it meets expectations (*´艸`*)
When poured into a glass, the cloudy, bright yellow Ripper appears. With this color, you can’t go wrong even when pouring it into a glass.
The flavor is a sweet tropical fruit flavor that gives a refreshing feeling. Which fruit stands out the most might depend on your perception, but it’s definitely pineapple. It has a light pineapple flavor with a blend of papaya, orange, mango, and banana.
The consistency isn’t too thick, and despite the strong tropical fruit mix flavor, it doesn’t leave a lingering sensation in your mouth. It doesn’t linger in your nose either, making it easy to drink in any situation.
On the other hand, if you were expecting a rich and intense tropical fruit flavor, while it’s definitely delicious, you might find it a bit different from what you imagined.
The can design follows the Punch series style, making it different from the U.S. juice series. It’s labeled as part of the juice series on the official site, though (´・ω・`)
Energy Ingredients of PUNCH MONSTER RIPPER
The simple energy blend includes 160mg of caffeine, 2000mg of taurine, 400mg of ginseng, and 10mg of inositol.
The juice ingredients include apple, guava, passion fruit, pineapple, orange, and lemon. However, there is no mention of the exact amount of juice included.
Comparison of PUNCH MONSTER RIPPER and JUICE MONSTER RIPPER
Now, let’s compare the Canadian Punch Ripper with the U.S. Juice Ripper.
The photo on the left is Punch Monster, and on the right is Juice Monster. Even when placed side by side, it’s hard to tell the difference.
However, I noticed a clear visual difference. When I pour them into separate glasses for photography, the Juice Monster has a dense "godly mist" while the Punch Monster has almost none and is a clear yellow.
The "godly mist" seems to be juice particles floating due to carbonation. As it settles, it forms a dense color at the bottom of the glass, but this isn’t present in the Punch Monster. This difference is so obvious that words can’t describe it. I was surprised at how much more obvious this difference was compared to when we tried the Khaos flavors.
Let’s do a taste comparison now. It was clear that there was a difference. As mentioned before, Punch has a refreshing and sweet tropical fruit flavor. But with Juice, while the base flavor is similar, there is a rich and full-bodied aroma that expands from your mouth to your nose after drinking. The sweetness of Juice has more depth and richness, and its fragrance is also more intense.
For those who liked M-80 originally, you might prefer Juice Monster Ripper. From the "godly mist" residue, it seems that the difference in fruit juice content has a significant impact on the flavor and aroma.
If you want something refreshing, go for Punch Monster Ripper; if you want a rich, almost overwhelming tropical pineapple flavor, then Juice Ripper is the choice.
By the way, here’s how much difference there is in the sediment...
Look at how much difference has appeared. While there is some yellow sediment in the Punch Monster Ripper, the color and amount are completely different.
By the way, the pull tab is silver and has no logo. In Canada, there’s a mix of logos, no logos, and various colored tabs.
