THE BEAST UNLEASED WHITE HAZE
As Monster Energy's first alcoholic beverage brand, the "THE BEAST UNLEASHED" series debuted in January 2023 with four flavors released simultaneously. This time, I’ll be reviewing THE BEAST UNLEASHED WHITE HAZE.
Since the launch of THE BEAST UNLEASHED series was staggered by several months depending on the state, I picked this up in California, one of the first states where it was released.

In 2001, while living in the United States, I encountered energy drinks through the dance scene and was deeply impressed. After returning to Japan, I found that energy drinks were considered novelty beverages, so I established a comprehensive website in 2013 to share the true appeal of energy drinks. As an energy drink enthusiast, I began drinking them seriously again, collecting over 7,000 varieties of energy drinks from various countries. I am also active as a critic and expert, receiving media interviews.
Flavor of THE BEAST UNLEASHED WHITE HAZE
The can design and the color of the liquid might already give you an idea of the flavor. Let's give it a try.
As soon as I take a sip, the alcohol gently envelops my mouth and nose, followed by a sweet and tangy flavor. As expected, this taste follows the signature flavor of the original MONSTER ENERGY ULTRA.
It offers a rich blend of the Ultra series' characteristic sweet and tangy flavor along with the presence of alcohol. The alcohol is quite pronounced, giving it a substantial drinking experience.
On the other hand, if you prefer the refreshing sweetness of the original non-alcoholic MONSTER ENERGY ULTRA, the alcohol might feel like a distraction.
Ingredients of THE BEAST UNLEASHED WHITE HAZE
Since THE BEAST UNLEASHED series is not an energy drink, it does not contain caffeine or other energy ingredients. It has an alcohol content of 6% and only 4g of carbohydrates.
Design of THE BEAST UNLEASHED WHITE HAZE
The "Ultra" color scheme featuring white and light blue. The Monster's eyes are a striking blue, and the gradient transition from gray skin to the black top is beautifully executed.
The surface of the can has the same rough texture as the original Ultra series.
Among THE BEAST UNLEASHED series, only WHITE HAZE has this rough texture. Since Ultra is a long-selling product, applying its image to WHITE HAZE makes it easy to visualize the taste even before drinking.
On the back of the can, there’s a poem that ties Monster Energy’s "21st anniversary" with the legal drinking age of "21."
Rumors about Monster entering the alcoholic beverage market had been circulating since 2019, but they perfectly timed the acquisition of a brewing company and product development to align with their 21st anniversary—an impressive feat.
Most of the hard seltzers trending in the U.S. feature clean and bright package designs. However, as a latecomer to the market, THE BEAST UNLEASHED series differentiates itself with a more "energy drink-style" edgy design, making it instantly recognizable for those familiar with energy drinks.
Even without "Ultra" in the product name, the white color, light blue accents, and rough-textured surface make it easy to imagine the flavor inside—something unique to THE BEAST UNLEASHED WHITE HAZE.
