The classic energy drink color. It's not as deep yellow as it looks in the picture, but rather a slightly lighter shade.

Upon tasting, a refreshing, apple-like tang of a classic flavor spreads.

It’s a citrus-based, classic flavor that is quite similar to Red Bull Original, but the tangy sensation fades quickly, making it much easier to drink and more refreshing than Red Bull.

With a tang and refreshing taste similar to V ENERGY ORIGINAL, along with a satisfying and crisp flavor, it’s perfect for an Australian summer. I’m sure it would also pair well with the California sun.

The flavor is so satisfying for thirst that it almost feels like it was designed with V Original in mind. That’s because when Mother was first released, it was no match for the powerhouse V Energy, and this is the flavor that was ultimately chosen after a full rebranding. Twelve years later, even after joining the Monster Energy family, this flavor has remained unchanged because it resonates with people in Oceania.

Contains 160mg of caffeine, 2000mg of taurine, and guarana, among other ingredients. The old design of Mother Original had a high-caffeine label, but in a 500ml can, the caffeine amount is quite typical.

Mother Energy Drink was originally sold by Coca-Cola, but after the capital partnership with Monster Energy, it began being sold by Monster Energy in Oceania and got a redesign with a striking red color.

The Coca-Cola era design was clearly cooler, so let me share some of that with you. Especially the original cans, which featured some collaborations and promotional designs. There were also bonus-sized cans and multi-pack offerings, showing that the brand was once very energetic.

However, since becoming part of Monster Energy, the design has become overly simplified (and many other brands in different countries have followed suit with similar disappointing designs), and the in-store momentum seems weaker. Many fans probably feel that the design overhaul was a failure.

Like the full redesign in 2008, when the brand transformed into a completely new version of Mother, I hope this time the packaging changes back to a cooler design reminiscent of the old Mother. (´・ω・｀)
