This is the TROPICAL BLAST from the Australian local energy drink brand, the Mother series. It is a new flavor released after Coca-Cola moved the brand under Monster Energy.

Flavor of Mother TROPICAL BLAST

As expected from its appearance, the aroma is pure orange. It's more of an ordinary orange rather than a tropical one.

When you take a sip, the flavor is sweet orange juice with plenty of sugar. It feels like eating a sweet, high-sugar, ripe mandarin orange. The sweetness goes beyond that of natural mandarin oranges, and as it warms up, it almost feels like you're drinking a sugary candy.

There’s no tangy citrus flavor, bitterness, or refreshing aftertaste; it’s purely a sugary orange flavor that dominates.

Without the fruitiness or fresh taste, it’s reminiscent of low-cost, unhealthy carbonated orange juices that are sold in 2L plastic bottles. With this flavor, you might get tired of it before finishing 500ml. Among the Mother energy drink series, this flavor is notably monotonous, and I don't think I'll repeat it.

Energy Ingredients of Mother TROPICAL BLAST

It contains 150mg of caffeine, 2000mg of taurine, and 10mg of inositol. The energy ingredients are quite standard.

However, it contains a whopping 77.3g of carbohydrates. This is just too much...! Perhaps this is the reason for the sweet mandarin-like flavor.

Design of Mother TROPICAL BLAST

The design features an orange wave pattern. All of the Mother series designs use the same wave pattern, with color coding for each flavor, so the brand lacks much distinctiveness.

While it’s not a problem since you can somewhat guess the flavor based on the product name and can color, I’d love to see a more distinctive design for each flavor. The main Monster brand does it this way, after all (^_^;)
