Shortly after its release, a trademark-related lawsuit was filed, and the brand name was changed, removing "RISE." However, the version being reviewed here is the early-release "RISE ENERGY" version of PEACH MANGO DAWN.

Upon opening, there is hardly any noticeable aroma, making it difficult to imagine the flavor from just the scent. It does have a slight tropical vibe with the hint of orange, but what kind of taste will it have?

When I take a sip, it has a light, sweet peach flavor. The mango flavor mentioned in the product name is nearly nonexistent, and if I were to describe it, it’s more like the flavor of an under-ripe, non-sweet mango blending with the peach flavor.

The sweetness is quite subtle, with no syrupy or concentrated feel. Despite its rich orange color, it tastes more natural, like a flavored water, which is quite different from the heavy, strong flavors typically associated with energy drinks.

Since RISE ENERGY series is positioned as a low-sugar, low-calorie brand, this more subtle approach to both taste and aroma seems intentional. They might be targeting a new audience by offering a flavor that is the opposite of the intense, sugary profile many energy drinks tend to have.

If you’re having it in the morning, this is just right. Personally, I’m all for low-sugar and low-calorie options.

That said, I feel this could easily be made sugar-free. The 5% juice is from white grape, but honestly, I think it could have been done without any juice and still worked fine. This leaves me with the impression that it’s a bit of an awkwardly positioned energy drink.

Contains 180mg of caffeine. It also includes zinc, but no other special energy ingredients. The 5% juice is only from white grape juice. At this point, I think it could have worked perfectly fine without any fruit juice.

The simple design features a matte silver can with a peach-like color and the lion logo. This was the original design when MTN DEW RISE ENERGY was first released, with "RISE" prominently featured in the product name, but it has since been rebranded to "MTN DEW ENERGY."

The back of the can displays the ingredients in a simple and straightforward way. I personally appreciate the minimalistic design, without excessive icons or color.

It features a ring-colored tab. Unlike many new energy drink brands that have recently appeared, this tab gives off a classic energy drink vibe.

RISE ENERGY was discontinued in the U.S. after the pandemic, but during my late 2022 trip, I managed to visit over 100 stores and collect all the flavors.

Based on the store availability, I noticed that only one or two MTN DEW ENERGY flavors were stocked, and in most places, they were almost entirely absent—a rather disappointing situation.
