Monster Energy M3 will be released in Japan on August 19th!

Posted on June 29, 2014 | Last updated February 21, 2025

Monster Energy M3, Previously Unavailable in Japan, Is Set for Release

Monster Energy M3 Japan Release
Product Name: MONSTER ENERGY M3
Release Date: August 19, 2014
Volume: 150ml (One-way bottle)
Price: ¥190 (excluding tax)

In the US, the 5oz (about 148ml) version of this product was released as a concentrated energy drink, packing the content of the usual 16oz size into a smaller bottle. The Japanese version will also be released in a 150ml bottle. The flavor is said to be the same as the original Monster Energy in Japan.

What’s great about Monster Energy M3 is that while standard Monster Energy comes in larger sizes—355ml in Japan and 473ml in the US—there are situations where you may not be able to finish the whole can or feel too full. For those moments when you want the energy boost but don’t need the full-size drink, the Monster Energy M3 is a concentrated version that offers just the right amount.

Differences Between Monster Energy M3 in the US and Japan

Monster Energy M3 Release
On August 19, 2014, Monster Energy M3, which was previously unavailable in Japan, will be released in bottle form.
We received information about this earlier than the official Monster Energy announcement from @NAPS_ISEHARA.

Monster Energy M3 Cap Design

What we know so far is that the bottle itself serves as the cap, similar to the design of Japanese energy drinks.
While the overseas version uses a crown cap that cannot be resealed after opening, it feels more like a collector’s item with the crown cap. Also, since the bottle is only 150ml, it might be possible to finish it in one sip, making resealing unnecessary.

Monster Energy M3 Bottle Design

Compared to the tall and slim US version, Japan's Monster Energy M3 bottle is slightly thicker.
The Japanese bottle features the Monster Energy logo, while the US version includes logos such as ARMY and IMPORT.

Monster Energy M3 Contents

In the US, Monster Energy M3 was a 5oz version of the original 16oz drink, concentrated about three times.
Japan’s standard Monster Energy is 355ml (12oz), so it’s unclear whether the Japanese version will be a concentration of this or whether the 150ml bottle has been condensed to reflect three times the amount (equivalent to 450ml).

July 2 Official Update

According to official information, the Japanese Monster Energy M3 will be a concentrated version of the 355ml can, reduced to 150ml.
The price will be ¥190, and it will be available nationwide from August 19th ((o(´∀`)o)).
By the way, only the original flavor will be available.
