America: New Red Bull Monster Rockstar titles coming in 2015 and 2016

Posted on October 13, 2015 | Last updated February 20, 2025

At the end of 2015 and into 2016, new releases from the top 3 global energy drink brands are hitting the market in the United States.

As the Energy Drink Man, I still haven’t caught up with reviews of these new energy drinks, so I might not be able to post reviews immediately after their release... It’s a bit disappointing, but new product announcements always excite me!

Now, let’s take a look at the new releases from Red Bull, Monster, and Rockstar!

2016 New Releases from Red Bull

In May 2016, Red Bull will release a new Summer Edition and the Red Bull Orange Edition in the United States.
The left one, the Orange Edition, will feature a tangerine flavor, while the one in the middle, the light green one, is expected to be released as the 2016 Summer Edition with a Kiwi Twist flavor ((o(´∀`)o)).

It's great that the Orange Edition will be available in a regular version rather than sugar-free. Sugar-free versions tend to lose flavor accuracy, so it may be that the sugar-free version wasn’t well-received. I'm happy to see it return in its regular form. It’s still unclear if the two flavors (Cherry and Orange) released as Total Zero will be discontinued. The flavors were quite weak, so Zero-Zero types may not suit Red Bull.

The Kiwi Twist seems like a perfect fit for the Summer Edition, offering a refreshing tartness, and I’m really looking forward to it. It looks like next year will be another great harvest of new products!

2015 Monster Energy: Ultra Black Becomes a Regular Item

As I mentioned on Twitter before, Monster Energy Ultra Black is planned to become a regular item. The design features black and silver with a prominent red accent, so I’m curious about how it will taste. Personally, I preferred the simpler black-and-silver design from the summer of 2014, which felt more luxurious.

If this image turns out to be fake, it would be amusing, but the idea of it becoming a regular item is exciting, so I’m looking forward to it. By the way, as I tweeted earlier, one of the older Ultra Series flavors is expected to be discontinued.

In 2001, while living in the United States, I encountered energy drinks through the dance scene and was deeply impressed. After returning to Japan, I found that energy drinks were considered novelty beverages, so I established a comprehensive website in 2013 to share the true appeal of energy drinks. As an energy drink enthusiast, I began drinking them seriously again, collecting over 7,000 varieties of energy drinks from various countries. I am also active as a critic and expert, receiving media interviews.
