2017 American Red Bull New Releases, Purple Edition, Lime Edition, Summer Edition

Posted on October 20, 2016 | Last updated February 20, 2025

New information has emerged about Red Bull’s 2017 releases in the U.S.

As usual, the Sugarfree version will see new limited-edition flavors, including the Purple Edition and Lime Edition. Additionally, the Summer Edition, a regular seasonal product, will be released again as expected.

2017 Sugarfree Releases

2017 Red Bull new releases in the U.S. - Purple Edition, Lime Edition, Summer Edition
Set for release on January 30, 2017, two new flavors will join the Sugarfree series: the Purple Edition and the Lime Edition. The Purple Edition will feature an Acai Berry flavor, while the Lime Edition will offer a Limeade flavor.

The cans prominently display "SUGARFREE" in light blue, and the tabs are also in the same color. Unlike previous editions, which had a single-color design, this new release uses silver accents to create a lighter, more noticeable image.

Given the ongoing sugar concerns in the U.S., this new launch is expected, but much like the Total Edition released in 2015, it may only last for a year. Sugarfree drinks tend to have less favorable tastes...

Summer Edition Continues in 2017

The Red Bull Summer Edition will also be returning in 2017, with a scheduled release date of May 1, as usual. I'll update with more information once the release images are available.

The flavor will be Grapefruit Twist, and it sounds fantastic. Personally, I’m really looking forward to this flavor. I can already imagine drinking it in the bright Los Angeles sunshine ((o(´∀`)o)).

Additionally, the Summer Edition Kiwi Twist from 2016 will return in 2017 as the Green Edition in the regular lineup starting January.

With pre-release products already showing up ahead of the summer season, it’s clear that exciting new releases are on the way!

As an energy drink enthusiast, I began drinking them seriously again, collecting over 7,000 varieties of energy drinks from various countries. I am also active as a critic and expert, receiving media interviews.
