Latest information on new Monster Energy products for 2017

Posted on January 14, 2017 | Last updated February 20, 2025

In 2017, numerous upcoming Monster Energy releases and other energy drinks under the Monster brand have been gradually unveiled.

Full Throttle

Full Throttle, previously released by Coca-Cola and currently fading into obscurity, is set for a complete design overhaul. Additionally, an orange flavor will be introduced, making it a three-flavor lineup. This design looks oddly familiar...

With NOS completely taking over, it seemed like Full Throttle might disappear, but it looks like it’s still in the game. It would be interesting to see some unique flavor expansions in the future.

Mother

Mother, the flagship energy drink of Oceania, is also getting a full design revamp. Some of its flavors will be adjusted as well. Personally, I think the current design looks better...

I'm planning another trip to Australia this year, but I have a feeling the full rebranding won’t be completed by then.

Monster Energy

Originally scheduled for release in 2016, Hydro has been pushed back to 2017. Three flavors are planned, and they are expected to launch in early 2017.

Energy Drink Mania actually covered this news back in June 2016... It’s been quite a delay.

Furthermore, a new coffee-based Monster drink is in the works. It appears to be a separate line from JAVA, with both canned and bottled versions. The canned variant is expected in the first half of 2017, while the bottled version will follow in the latter half of the year. The bottle label design is absolutely stunning! (●´ω`●)

However, long-term storage for display purposes could be concerning. The seal on bottles is definitely less airtight compared to cans.

Additionally, the Juice Monster series will introduce a new mango flavor. The design is completely wild! It’s unclear if this is Mexico-inspired, but with such a drastic color change, it would make sense as a regional, seasonal, or store-exclusive release.

2017 Looks Promising!

The Monster Energy scene in the U.S. is poised for some intense transformations, making 2017 an exciting year! In particular, the Juice Monster Mango boasts an insane design and is expected to sell like crazy upon release—especially if it’s a limited edition. It feels like Monster is taking things to a whole new level.

Hopefully, it’ll be available in time for my next trip to the U.S.! Red Bull's Summer Edition drops in early May, along with two new Zero flavors, so if Monster times this launch accordingly, things could get really interesting! ((o(´∀`)o))

One thing's for sure—Monster Energy in the U.S. will be keeping us on our toes this year!

In 2001, while living in the United States, I encountered energy drinks through the dance scene and was deeply impressed. After returning to Japan, I found that energy drinks were considered novelty beverages, so I established a comprehensive website in 2013 to share the true appeal of energy drinks. As an energy drink enthusiast, I began drinking them seriously again, collecting over 7,000 varieties of energy drinks from various countries. I am also active as a critic and expert, receiving media interviews.
