Rockstar's new Revolt series to be released worldwide
Rockstar Revolt Citrus Killer, originally released in the U.S., has sparked a wave of new releases in various countries. It's quite rare to see a series expand this rapidly, making us wonder if this will be a consistently growing lineup for the first time in a while.
Let's take a look at the Rockstar Revolt series available as of January 2017! ((o(´∀`)o))
Germany – Killer Citrus & Killer Cherry
In Germany, Killer Citrus and the red Killer Cherry were both released in November 2016. It's interesting to see an original flavor debut here even before the U.S. Considering the numerous EU-exclusive Rockstar flavors in the past, we can expect more regional exclusives in the future.
Following Germany’s lead, 2017 saw a rapid expansion of the Revolt series across multiple countries.
Spain – Killer Cherry
In Spain, Killer Cherry was introduced with a bold "Big Star" design. It's fascinating how the design differs even within Europe. Personally, I’ve always found Spain’s Rockstar lineup intriguing, making it a region to keep an eye on.
United States – Killer Grape & Killer Black Cherry
In the U.S., Killer Grape started appearing on store shelves in January 2017. Currently, both Killer Grape and Killer Black Cherry are finalized, with Killer Black Cherry slated for release soon (as of January 2017).
Although Killer Grape is initially a store-exclusive item, it’s expected to roll out to more retailers soon. Interestingly, it launched around the same time as Monster’s Ultra Violet, making it a direct competitor. Given the growing trend of grape flavors, Rockstar’s moves have been particularly exciting compared to Monster’s lately (*´ェ`*).
Canada – Killer Citrus & Killer Grape
Canada joined the Revolt lineup in January 2017, releasing both Killer Citrus and Killer Grape simultaneously. Additionally, the Pure Zero series has been expanding. Canada often lags behind in releases, and while I had high hopes for an earlier launch in Vancouver, it seems I was a bit too optimistic this time (ヽ´ω`).
United Kingdom – Zero-Zero Killer Citrus & Killer Cooler
The UK introduced a sugar-free Revolt lineup with the "Big Star" design, featuring Killer Citrus and Killer Cooler. The UK continues to follow its own unique path in Rockstar’s global strategy.
It’ll be interesting to see how well these Zero-Zero flavors replicate their sugared counterparts—or whether they end up tasting like artificial sweeteners all the way through. Either way, I'm excited to find out!
Potential Releases in Other Countries
Unfortunately, Japan is almost certainly out of the picture… However, considering Rockstar’s recent trends, while the EU is clearly a major focus, other regions have also seen a steady flow of new releases and product revamps. This means there's a good chance we’ll see additional Revolt flavors pop up in various markets soon.

In 2001, while living in the United States, I encountered energy drinks through the dance scene and was deeply impressed. After returning to Japan, I found that energy drinks were considered novelty beverages, so I established a comprehensive website in 2013 to share the true appeal of energy drinks. As an energy drink enthusiast, I began drinking them seriously again, collecting over 7,000 varieties of energy drinks from various countries. I am also active as a critic and expert, receiving media interviews.
