Red Bull 355ml Released in Japan!
It has been decided that the 355ml can of Red Bull Original, the largest size in Japan, will be released nationwide at convenience stores starting from May 16. Just recently, a larger version of the Red Bull Original, the 330ml can, was released in supermarkets and drugstores.

Real Size Increase Finally in Japan

Red Bull 355ml Released in Japan! While many countries have released larger sizes of Red Bull, Red Bull Japan had continued with its characteristic mini-size offerings. However, since 2017, they have been rapidly increasing the size. The 330ml can, priced the same as the 250ml can, made quite an impact.

It is reported that the newly announced 355ml can will be priced around 315 yen. It’s a bit on the expensive side. The reasoning behind the release of the 355ml can is that younger people, especially teenagers, have been requesting larger sizes, but I wonder if 300 yen might be a little too high for teenagers to spend? (^_^;)

Also, with such a large price difference compared to Monster Energy, those who want to drink more might opt for Monster instead.

What About the Sizes for Edition Variants?

Both the previous 330ml and the new 355ml cans are size increases for the original flavor only. The Sugar-Free variant remains in 185ml and 250ml cans. If any future Editions are released, they will likely be in 185ml or 250ml sizes.

355ml Edition cans are only available in North America and a few other countries, with most countries sticking to 250ml for the Editions. I don’t think the 355ml size will be available in Japan, and if it were, it would probably be too expensive for most to purchase. The most reasonably priced size is the 185ml can, so it may be best for Japan to stick with that size.

In 2001, while living in the United States, I encountered energy drinks through the dance scene and was deeply impressed. After returning to Japan, I found that energy drinks were considered novelty beverages, so I established a comprehensive website in 2013 to share the true appeal of energy drinks. As an energy drink enthusiast, I began drinking them seriously again, collecting over 7,000 varieties of energy drinks from various countries. I am also active as a critic and expert, receiving media interviews.
