A rush of new rockstar releases in the US and Canada!
Even in the second half of 2017, new releases continue in the United States! A Mandarin Orange flavor has been newly launched in the Rockstar Zero Zero series and the Pure Zero series. Additionally, new products have been added in Canada.
Fall 2017, Limited Release at 7-Eleven in the U.S.
This new Pure Zero flavor starts as an exclusive release at 7-Eleven stores in the U.S. It’s expected that it will eventually be available at other stores. While Red Bull’s Orange Edition offers a similar flavor, the taste has a somewhat cheap feel, so it's unclear if that was intentional. However, Rockstar’s decision to introduce this as a Zero Zero option brings a lot of excitement (*´艸`*).
The Pure Zero series is superb, offering a different level of quality than Monster’s Ultra series. With this new release, in addition to the excitement of trying a new product, it’s great that it’s available at 7-Eleven, making the experience even better ( ´∀`)bグッ!
Fall 2017, New Limited Releases in Canada
In Canada, Rockstar’s Blackout flavor has been released as a 7-Eleven exclusive. While it's limited to select stores, it's more accessible since it started as a general release.
However, the reason for this release is unclear—it doesn't seem like it was due to popularity in the U.S., so it’ll be interesting to see how long it lasts (;´∀`).
In addition, the much-anticipated Kushthal flavor, which was previously only available in Spain, is now released as Strawberry Super Sour in Canada. It’s not well-known in Japan, but it’s an absolute must-have in Canada. These exclusive products, including the Blue Glacier that was released in the summer, have not yet been expanded to other stores.
Interestingly, this Strawberry flavor doesn’t seem to be a limited-time release, so it may eventually expand nationwide—or maybe it is a limited edition after all. It could also be available at affiliated stores. It’s definitely something to check out while in the area (*´ェ`*).
Both the U.S. and Canada Get Destiny 2 Cans
Both the U.S. and Canada saw the release of Destiny 2 cans in Fall 2017, marking a new wave of releases in North America. Despite being fall, the industry’s push shows no signs of slowing down, which is impressive.
In Canada, Rockstar Vodka is also being released (not an energy drink), and with Monster’s limited-edition products also hitting the shelves, it’s a surprise to see so many new launches.
However, the fact that these new products start as store exclusives is an exciting aspect for energy drink enthusiasts (*´ェ`*). While it's not always possible to travel overseas for new releases, it’s thrilling to grab new products in person as soon as they’re released, almost like fate (´∀`).
※Just a few days after writing this article, I’m in the U.S.! (*´∀`*) I timed my trip perfectly! However, it’s a bit concerning since the stores are few and far between due to safety issues Σ(・∀・;)

After returning to Japan, I found that energy drinks were considered novelty beverages, so I established a comprehensive website in 2013 to share the true appeal of energy drinks. As an energy drink enthusiast, I began drinking them seriously again, collecting over 7,000 varieties of energy drinks from various countries. I am also active as a critic and expert, receiving media interviews.
