2018 New Releases of Monster Energy in the US and Worldwide
2018 has started. In 2016, we covered a similar news story for 2017 looking ahead to 2017, and this year, we anticipate a series of new releases as well. There are also plans to explore new directions, and personally, I hope the tests go well.
New Monster Energy Releases in the U.S.
These are the planned new releases for Monster Energy in 2018.
One of them seems to be a redesign of Rehab. The MAXX series, caffe series, muscle bottle, and Hydro will all be available in PET bottles, with even more flavor options... It looks like there will be a lot of expansion ((o(´∀`)o))
The MAXX might be a revamped version of Extra Strength, which looks similar. If that’s the case, Extra Strength might be discontinued. Since American store refrigerators don’t have infinite space, it’s likely that something will be phased out.
Hydro’s bottle, unlike in the UK, seems to be the same shape as Canada’s, so there’s a possibility that the U.S. will switch to this shape as well. Even though it's a PET bottle, the design where the cap can’t be resealed isn’t very practical, is it? (^_^;)
Additionally, it’s unclear if this is included, but they seem to be considering the launch of low-priced energy drinks in the future. Although 2017 market share data hasn’t been released yet, VENOM at $1 has achieved remarkable sales, so there seems to be a shift in the U.S. where lower prices don’t necessarily mean lower quality, unlike in Japan.
However, one trend that’s going against the grain is the high price of bottle-based products. In the U.S., where bottled drinks are usually cheap, it’s surprising to see them continuing this. They might want to establish their market here first, but I wonder how this will play out in 2018. Will it last long?
International Expansion
There’s also information about the international expansion of Monster and other energy drink brands.
It looks like Mutant will be released in both PET bottles and cans. The cans definitely look more impressive... (*´艸`*)
I’d love to have these.
Although official information on European brands hasn’t been released yet, new flavors are definitely coming.
Moreover, the growth in China is highly promising, and with other new expansions planned in Asia, it looks like there will be even more excitement for energy drink travelers.

In 2001, while living in the United States, I encountered energy drinks through the dance scene and was deeply impressed. After returning to Japan, I found that energy drinks were considered novelty beverages, so I established a comprehensive website in 2013 to share the true appeal of energy drinks. As an energy drink enthusiast, I began drinking them seriously again, collecting over 7,000 varieties of energy drinks from various countries. I am also active as a critic and expert, receiving media interviews.
