Monster Energy Hirano Ayumu design cans re-released on Amazon

Released in December 2017, the Monster Energy Hirano Ayumu design cans quickly disappeared from store shelves. It was announced that they would be re-released exclusively on Amazon on December 1, 2018.

Before the release, I thought it was just leftover stock being disposed of, but it was revealed that the re-released product was newly manufactured. Why they decided to re-release the exact same product at this time remains unclear... It’s rare for campaign products to be re-released globally (^_^;)

From December 1, 2018, both the original and Ultra Monster Energy Hirano Ayumu design cans were re-released in limited quantities. As of December 5, 2018, the Ultra cans have already sold out.

Not Excess Stock Clearance, But Newly Manufactured Hirano Ayumu Design Cans

When we asked those who purchased the cans for the expiration date, we found that they were manufactured in September 2018. These are not clearance items, as their expiration date is in September 2020.

The SKU seems to be the same as the previous Hirano Ayumu design cans, so for those who already own one, it’s a dilemma whether to buy a case of 24 cans at a price close to the original price.

This is just my speculation, but I thought that due to the 2017 PyeongChang Olympics, they were unable to ship all the stock, and the leftover cans could not be displayed due to the expiration date issue, leading to the clearance this time. However, it turns out they manufactured fresh products for the re-release... I was a bit surprised by the re-release of a campaign can, something that has never happened before globally.

The Ultra cans were sold out by the day after the sale started, so it seems like there were fewer produced. At 4,800 yen for 24 cans, it’s a bit of a difficult purchase. Plus, the usual reselling cycle can be frustrating～(；´∀｀)
