Matsukiyo's new energy drink for 2020 contains protein! Run and Gun Energy Drink released
On January 11, 2020, a new product from Matsukiyo's private brand energy drink series, EXSTRONG, was announced!
This time, the product is called “EXSTRONG RUN&GUN”, which contains protein and citric acid. It will be released in limited quantities.
Peach Flavor with Protein
The energy components of "RUN&GUN" include 65mg of caffeine, 200mg of arginine, 1700mg of protein, and 830mg of citric acid per 100ml. While the amount of protein is about 4g in a 250ml can, which might seem a bit underwhelming... Σ(´∀`;)
Rather than focusing on protein intake, it seems more suited for pre-workout caffeine boost and as a pre-workout drink.
According to Matsukiyo, they noticed a trend of posting both energy drinks and protein-containing products on social media, and upon investigating, they found that this kind of purchasing behavior existed. This led to the development of the new product "RUN&GUN."
"RUN&GUN" features a peach flavor that's easy to drink before or after sports, with a can in fiery red and a milky blue interior color.
It's not a heavy type, so it likely has a light and clear texture, making it easy for anyone to drink. I'm also looking forward to the peach flavor.
The selling price is ¥139 (excluding tax), and it was released on January 11, 2020, in limited quantities at Matsukiyo stores nationwide.
