Ginseng
Ginseng in Energy Drinks
Ginseng is included in many energy drinks. If you see "GINSENG" on an overseas energy drink label, it refers to Korean ginseng. It is also known as "Panax ginseng" or "Asian ginseng." If you find this term on Japanese energy drinks, you can consider it to be the same ingredient.
The energy benefits of Korean ginseng, including its energy-boosting effects, are largely attributed to a component called "ginsenosides." The name "ginseng" itself is derived from the ginsenoside component.
Effects of Korean Ginseng
- Blood pressure control
- Activation of metabolic functions
- Mental stability
- Fatigue recovery
- Vasodilation (blood vessel dilation) effects

In 2001, while living in the United States, I encountered energy drinks through the dance scene and was deeply impressed. After returning to Japan, I found that energy drinks were considered novelty beverages, so I established a comprehensive website in 2013 to share the true appeal of energy drinks. As an energy drink enthusiast, I began drinking them seriously again, collecting over 7,000 varieties of energy drinks from various countries. I am also active as a critic and expert, receiving media interviews.
