Honey
Honey as an Ingredient
Honey is composed of 80% sugars, mainly glucose (grape sugar) and fructose (fruit sugar), which makes it a quick source of energy. In addition, honey contains vitamins, minerals, and enzymes, but it is still unclear whether the components in honey have significant health benefits.
Honey sellers often describe it as a "miracle cure," but as mentioned, 80% of it consists of sugar, so the other components are unlikely to provide substantial health benefits. Overconsumption can lead to excessive sugar intake, so it's best to enjoy honey as a sweet treat without expecting too much in terms of health enhancement.
Energy Drinks Containing Honey
Some energy drinks contain honey, such as the now-discontinued Monster Energy's Killer Bee. Honey is often used more for flavoring rather than as an energy-boosting ingredient in energy drinks.

In 2001, while living in the United States, I encountered energy drinks through the dance scene and was deeply impressed. After returning to Japan, I found that energy drinks were considered novelty beverages, so I established a comprehensive website in 2013 to share the true appeal of energy drinks. As an energy drink enthusiast, I began drinking them seriously again, collecting over 7,000 varieties of energy drinks from various countries. I am also active as a critic and expert, receiving media interviews.
