In January 2023, PRIME ENERGY released five flavors simultaneously, including the Lemon Lime flavor, which I’ll be reviewing here.

PRIME originally started in 2022 with the launch of "PRIME HYDRATION," a bottled sports drink that contains no caffeine. The brand later expanded into the energy drink market with the "PRIME ENERGY" series. This PRIME ENERGY LEMON LIME flavor is one of the flavors carried over from the original PRIME HYDRATION lineup.

Upon opening the can, the refreshing citrus scent of lemon and lime immediately fills the air. The drink itself has a cloudy, lime-like color, which is actually a common characteristic of the PRIME ENERGY series. In this case, it feels fitting for the lime flavor. Now, let's give it a try.

The aftertaste leaves just a hint of sweetness and acidity, but it's refreshing and not overly lingering. There’s no unpleasant taste from artificial sweeteners, and it’s easy to drink in large gulps. It’s a familiar lime flavor, but what stands out is its smoothness and ease of drinking, which leaves a positive impression.

Like the rest of the PRIME ENERGY series, it doesn’t taste like a sugar-free drink. The lime’s tartness and satisfying drinkability are well-balanced with its clean, sugar-free flavor. I found myself finishing the can quickly without even realizing it. There’s no chemical taste, just a natural drinking experience that surprised me.

Thanks to the global influencers promoting it, there’s no doubt it’s become popular, for better or worse. But after trying it myself, I can confidently say that the quality of the taste is very high, and it’s definitely worth trying without any regret.

Given the strong influence of social media influencers, PRIME ENERGY has been criticized as a high-caffeine energy drink, particularly for children.

The caffeine content per can is not particularly dangerous compared to other products, but it’s understandable that teenagers, who are heavily influenced by these influencers, might be concerned about the 200mg of caffeine. It really highlights the importance of targeting the right audience.

The design is a bit too simple, making it look like a generic store-brand energy drink. It’s a shame because the taste quality is so high, and it would be great if the design could reflect that same level of appeal.
