RAIZIN COOL

Posted on June 25, 2013 | Last updated February 21, 2025

raizin cool
Although the regular RAIZIN's spices and ginger left me feeling overwhelmed, the moment I opened RAIZIN COOL, the citrusy scent immediately raised my expectations. There are no spices in the ingredients, so I can drink it with peace of mind ε-(´∀`*)ホッ

In 2001, while living in the United States, I encountered energy drinks through the dance scene and was deeply impressed. After returning to Japan, I found that energy drinks were considered novelty beverages, so I established a comprehensive website in 2013 to share the true appeal of energy drinks. As an energy drink enthusiast, I began drinking them seriously again, collecting over 7,000 varieties of energy drinks from various countries. I am also active as a critic and expert, receiving media interviews.

RAIZIN COOL's Menthol is Quite ( ・∀・)イイ!!

However, once I drank it, I was hit with a sensation again! ... It was menthol. The flavor itself is grapefruit-based, with a good amount of fruity notes, but then they added a refreshing blast of menthol. The can says "fresh breeze sensation," but RAIZIN COOL is more like a blizzard. It’s cold from the throat to the esophagus. If you keep drinking, even your stomach feels cold. Imagine drinking a carbonated beverage with black gum or Frisk—this is RAIZIN COOL!!

It Feels Like Your Body Temperature is Dropping, It's So Cool

Because it gets covered in droplets, I typically don’t chill it before taking photos, but after that, I enjoy it on the rocks. With RAIZIN COOL, combined with the ice-cold sensation, it really feels like your body temperature is dropping. This could be great in the summer. It seems like a version of RAIZIN that’s slightly ahead of the curve. I’m looking forward to what flavor they’ll introduce next.

Summer is Best with RAIZIN COOL Stocked Up

By the way, in the summer, I’d want to stock about 100 bottles of RAIZIN COOL. One in the morning, one during the hot midday, and one after evening practice to cool down. It would disappear quickly. The level of refreshment is surprisingly high, and the flavor isn’t too strong, so it’s well-balanced. It makes you want to repeat.

While there's a review somewhere, writing that "RAIZIN COOL tastes bad," I have to say, it's actually quite tasty!

※ It’s funny that the regular RAIZIN is sold normally, but RAIZIN COOL is a summer limited edition... I think RAIZIN COOL might be more widely accepted, especially since the ginger’s spicy kick is the kind of flavor that might take some getting used to.
