In 2001, while living in the United States, I encountered energy drinks through the dance scene and was deeply impressed. After returning to Japan, I found that energy drinks were considered novelty beverages, so I established a comprehensive website in 2013 to share the true appeal of energy drinks. As an energy drink enthusiast, I began drinking them seriously again, collecting over 7,000 varieties of energy drinks from various countries. I am also active as a critic and expert, receiving media interviews.
Flavor of Bull
I previously wrote a review of the Red Bull F1 Edition, and the appearance is very similar.
The taste has a strong bitterness reminiscent of citrus fruits like grapefruit and orange, with a notably low level of sweetness. When compared to the F1 Edition, the colors are also very similar.
While the information may not be entirely accurate, I’ve heard it’s a tasting sample, so it’s possible that the packaging design was changed but the contents are the same as the F1 Edition.
Design of Bull Can
The front features "Bull" in red lettering, along with horns and possibly nostrils. It's a very simple design that doesn't feel very "Red Bull." At the bottom of the can, it says "A PRODUCT FROM RED BULL."
The back features the logos for Red Bull TV and ServusTV. It seems that the back design varies depending on the can; some may have the logo of Red Bull's football club. As this is from Salzburg, it lacks the FDA label found on American cans.
By the way, ServusTV is a television station in Salzburg that was bought by Red Bull. The name "Servus" was given by Red Bull founder Mateschitz, and it’s a greeting in Austrian culture—similar to "Aloha" in Hawaii. However, it’s considered somewhat old-fashioned, and employees sometimes complain about it being "uncool."
The top programs can be watched on their website, and the visuals and music are quite beautiful, so you might want to check them out during your free time.
Where Bull Stands Now
There seems to be a lot of conflicting information, and no clear details are available. Some say it was created as a test sample, while others suggest it’s sold at Red Bull restaurants or Hangar-7 near Salzburg, or even at Red Bull’s sports facilities. The current status remains unclear, but one thing is for sure: it is a limited product.
