In 2001, while living in the United States, I encountered energy drinks through the dance scene and was deeply impressed. After returning to Japan, I found that energy drinks were considered novelty beverages, so I established a comprehensive website in 2013 to share the true appeal of energy drinks. As an energy drink enthusiast, I began drinking them seriously again, collecting over 7,000 varieties of energy drinks from various countries. I am also active as a critic and expert, receiving media interviews.

Rich Blueberry Flavor of the Blue Edition

First of all, the Japanese Blue Edition comes in a small 185ml can, which is a bit disappointing. Honestly, it's not enough because it's just that good (*´ェ`*).

The color is a deep purple, appearing bluer than the American Blue Edition. The U.S. version seemed to have a slightly redder hue in comparison. The listed color additives are carotene, hibiscus pigment, and Blue No.1—it almost sounds like mixing paint, which is kind of amusing.

The flavor isn’t too sour, and at room temperature, it tastes quite sweet. Even when chilled, the sweetness remains well-balanced without becoming overly tart. The smooth blueberry sweetness makes it easy to drink, and I can confidently say this will be highly rated.
Seriously though, 185ml is way too little… I wish they had released it in a 473ml can because the quality is outstanding ((o(´∀`)o)).
※ I also wrote that 250ml was too little for the American Blue Edition!

Ingredients of the Blue Edition

The ingredients are nearly identical to the U.S. version, aside from volume differences. It contains 80mg of caffeine, and as expected, no taurine.
But honestly, just being able to drink the Blue Edition in Japan is enough—ingredients don’t even matter at this point.

Can Design of the Japanese Blue Edition

At the top of the can, a silver stripe reads "FOR EVERY FAN 全てのファンへ." This was part of the pre-release concept, so it makes sense why they included it. If it ever becomes a regular product, this part might be removed.

Unfortunately, the pull tab is silver. Fans who collect pull tabs were probably hoping for something special.
Considering this is the Blue Edition, it's a bit of a missed opportunity… (ヽ´ω`)

Since the teaser site gave off a World Cup-inspired vibe, I was hoping to enjoy the Red Bull Blue Edition while watching the matches. But since it's a limited-time, limited-quantity release, there's no telling how long it will be available. I have a feeling some people will be stockpiling this one!
