This is the Red Bull EDIĆION LIMÓN, a lime-flavored drink that was released unexpectedly in 2016 without much promotion, and was eventually discontinued. Before its release, I thought it might be limited to areas with a large Mexican population based on the product name, but it was actually sold nationwide in the U.S.

Outside of the U.S., it was also released in Mexico. During my trip to Mexico City, I was able to grab the Mexican version of Red Bull EDIĆION LIMÓN as well.

Opening the can, the typical citrusy lime aroma hits me. Hmm, well it's lime, so I didn't expect much, but that's just my personal feeling since I'm not too into lime flavors Σ(´∀｀；).

When poured into a glass, it's lime green! I was worried that it would just be a limited edition with a packaging change from the Silver Edition, but thankfully, it wasn’t ε-(´∀｀*)ﾎｯ.

Taking a sip, the flavor hits with a complex, rich citrusy fragrance that fills the nose. What was that simple lime scent I first noticed? This is amazing!

The taste is a bold citrus lime with a balance of sourness and bitterness. The bitterness adds a nice weight and makes it more delicious.

As I continued to drink, I started to feel a rich, fresh sweetness, almost like the taste of fruit pulp, which, combined with the fragrance, created a complex lemon-lime flavor experience.

This is completely different from the usual thin, sour, or overly sweet lime flavors. The balance between the bitterness and sweetness is perfect, and the lime aroma and bitterness linger, making it a refined adult limeade. ( ´∀｀)b Good!

Energy Ingredients of Red Bull EDIĆION LIMÓN

The drink contains 114mg of caffeine and taurine, with other usual ingredients. The ingredient list includes both English and Spanish, as this product is also sold in Mexico. (The Spanish text is uniquely added just for this product.)

Here’s the 250ml Mexican version of EDIĆION LIMÓN. Everything is labeled in Spanish. I was so impressed with the excellent flavor of the U.S. version that I wanted to get my hands on the Mexican version too.

So far, Red Bull's Edition series has mostly had color variations, but nothing as uniquely designed as the Edition Lemon.

It blends citrus fruits and Mexico's colorful imagery, giving it a special feel. Although it didn’t stand out much in stores, I actually prefer this subtle design over something more aggressively styled. (ｕ_ｕ*) The Spanish text on the back also adds a nice touch.

Since it was a limited edition, I’m not sure what the intent behind the release was, but I’d love to see more limited edition designs and flavors like this, separate from the regular lineup.
