Red Bull RED EDITION SUGARFREE Watermelon

Released in June 2024, this is the sugar-free version of Red Bull RED EDITION Watermelon, which was initially a limited summer release in 2020 as Red Bull SUMMER EDITION 2020 Watermelon, and later became a permanent addition to the Red Bull RED EDITION series. It was also launched in Canada around the same time.

Upon opening, a sweet watermelon candy-like aroma bursts out. There is no typical raw watermelon smell. This is the same as the full-sugar version of the watermelon flavor. Let's take a sip.

As it touches my tongue, a sweet and sour watermelon flavor spreads. There is no thinness or unpleasant taste from artificial sweeteners, and unless you knew it was sugar-free, you could easily mistake it for one with sugar.

The strong sweet watermelon fragrance contributes to a satisfying experience, and at the same time, it’s not watery—it has a well-defined watermelon taste that can be enjoyed by the palate.

On the other hand, compared to the full-sugar version, the aftertaste doesn’t linger too long, and the finish is light. Drinking it slowly, I notice the delicate, refreshing aftertaste, which makes me realize how this sugar-free version achieves a crisp and refreshing drinking experience.

This "light aftertaste" might be considered to capture a much more watermelon-like refreshing flavor than the previously released full-sugar version.

If you're looking for a more intense watermelon candy flavor, the full-sugar version would be the choice. But for a watermelon-like refreshing taste, this sugar-free version is definitely the one to recommend. Even in the 355ml size, it's easy to finish without getting tired of it.

The combination of red, representing the watermelon flesh, and green, representing the skin, used for the font color is the same as the full-sugar watermelon flavor. In North America, two sizes—250ml and 355ml—were released.

Since this is the sugar-free version, everything from the tab to the top of the can, the SUGARFREE label, and the O SUGAR icon are all in light blue, clearly indicating that it’s a sugar-free product.

In North America, by the second half of 2024, two flavors—watermelon and apricot—were launched from the standard edition series, and a sugar-free version of the seasonal Winter Edition 2024 was also released. Three flavors appeared at the same time.
