This is a review of the Red Bull SUMMER EDITION 2018 Coconut Berry.

In the United States, the Summer Edition is released every year in the first week of May, so it has become a tradition for me to travel to the U.S. during Golden Week, the perfect travel season, and buy it (●´ω｀●).

Although I’m not particularly fond of coconut scent, and wouldn’t say I really love it, I wondered if I’d be able to finish the entire 355ml... But there was no need to worry. Now, I can happily enjoy chilled Coconut Berry flavors from different countries.

Upon opening, a strong sweet coconut scent wafts through, along with a hint of apple. While it’s labeled as a "Coconut Berry" flavor, the berry scent might not be as prominent from the aroma.

Look at this color! A vibrant summer-like light blue. No matter how many times I drink it, this refreshing and vivid color feels just right for an energy drink and gives off a summer vibe. It’s wonderful (*´ｪ`*)

As soon as I take a sip, the distinct coconut scent fills my senses, accompanied by a smooth sweetness and a green apple tartness… but where is the berry flavor…!?

After getting used to it, the coconut scent no longer bothers me, and the smooth and refreshingly tart green apple flavor stands out. Drinking this makes you wonder, “What exactly does a berry flavor taste like again?” (laughs)

By the way, the delicious apple flavor is very similar to the taste of Boston America’s Sonic Energy Drink. The lack of berry taste might be because there isn’t much tartness or the sweetness is more mellow.

The aftertaste leaves a gentle tartness, and the coconut scent lingers just faintly. It’s a well-balanced, crisp taste with little aftertaste. When chilled, the tartness stands out more, making it easy to drink. It’s genuinely delicious (*´艸｀*)

If you're not bothered by coconut water, you’ll likely enjoy the aroma without any issue. Personally, I don’t love the sweet scent of coconut, but I find it fine at this level.

Contains 114mg of caffeine and 1420mg of taurine. Of course, there’s no fruit juice. However, it’s impressive how the coconut aroma and the refreshing, fruity taste—despite not being very berry-like—are achieved. Truly remarkable.

The simple white can with blue "Coconut Berry" lettering looks cool. When displayed in stores in the U.S., the white can of Coconut Berry stood out quite a bit among the colorful edition series. It has a cool and clean image, and personally, I love this color.

However, with the coconut white design, it feels like we’ve almost run out of can color options. It might be interesting if they release cans with patterns in the future ((o(´∀｀)o))

There are already plenty of limited edition cans like that, and it would be great to see it released as a special limited flavor like Red Bull EDIĆION LIMÓN. The design of that one is fantastic.

Since it’s a new release, it comes with the usual silver tab. Recently, many of the existing edition series have been switching from silver to colored tabs, so if this becomes a regular after the season ends, we might see a white tab for Coconut Berry.
