Red Bull White Edition Fresh Breeze (Limited Edition in Japan)

Posted on March 3, 2020 | Last updated February 8, 2025

Red Bull White Edition Fresh Breeze (Limited Edition in Japan)
Released on March 3, 2020, the Red Bull White Edition Fresh Breeze is a limited edition flavor, marking the first new flavor in Japan in four years (it was later re-released in a 250ml size and became a regular product in 2021). It has a refreshing peach flavor.
*As of January 2023, the 250ml size of the White Edition has been removed from the official website, and discounts are appearing online. It seems to be discontinued.

Overseas, the White Edition has already been released as a regular product, and in 2019, the Peach Edition was released in the U.S. Here’s a review comparing those flavors as well.

Author informationAuthor: Energy Drink-kun

In 2001, while living in the United States, I encountered energy drinks through the dance scene and was deeply impressed. After returning to Japan, I found that energy drinks were considered novelty beverages, so I established a comprehensive website in 2013 to share the true appeal of energy drinks. As an energy drink enthusiast, I began drinking them seriously again, collecting over 7,000 varieties of energy drinks from various countries. I am also active as a critic and expert, receiving media interviews.

Flavor of Red Bull White Edition Fresh Breeze

Upon opening, a rich peach aroma reminiscent of canned peaches or peach nectar bursts out. The scent is stronger than expected.

When poured into a glass, the drink appears cloudy white, the exact color you would imagine for white peaches.

Let’s take a sip.

As it touches your mouth, a refreshing sweetness spreads with a lively, juicy peach flavor. Despite its light texture, the rich peach aroma gives a satisfying experience.

The aftertaste fades almost entirely, leaving no stickiness or residue. A subtle peach aroma lingers, surprisingly realistic, offering a lingering aftertaste like you’ve just eaten fresh peach flesh. I'm always impressed by how this edition achieves this without using actual fruit juice.

Red Bull White Edition Fresh Breeze (Limited Edition in Japan)
It’s not an overly punchy flavor, but the strong aroma and moderate peach sweetness make the 185ml mini can clearly insufficient...

“I think this should be released in 250ml!!” I thought, but refreshing it as a quick drink is also a nice option. When served with plenty of ice, the peach sweetness becomes even more refreshing and delicious (๑´ڡ`๑).

2021 Update: White Edition Upgraded to 250ml and Became a Regular Product

Red Bull White Edition Fresh Breeze (Limited Edition in Japan)
Initially a limited product in 185ml, the White Edition became a regular product starting December 1, 2020, with the price remaining the same. As I mentioned in my review, 185ml was simply too small, and the price was a bit steep. Many people, I’m sure, didn’t feel like buying it at ¥200 for the mini size.

Now, with the 250ml size priced at ¥200, I hope more people can enjoy Red Bull’s exceptional peach flavor.

Energy Ingredients of Red Bull White Edition Fresh Breeze

Red Bull White Edition Fresh Breeze (Limited Edition in Japan)
It contains 80mg of caffeine and 222mg of arginine, the same as regular Red Bull. Even with the 250ml size, the caffeine remains at 80mg, but the arginine content increases to 300mg. This difference is negligible in terms of sensory experience.

Limited Edition, Japan-Exclusive White Edition

As indicated on the can, White Edition Fresh Breeze is a limited-time release. (It was upgraded to a 250ml size and became a regular product in 2021!)

Once it’s gone from store shelves, it’ll no longer be available, so if you love the rich and fresh peach flavor, I recommend buying in bulk.
*Now, with the 250ml size and as a regular product, you can enjoy Red Bull’s peach flavor anytime ( ´∀`)bグッ!

By the way, the White Edition is not a limited product worldwide; it’s available as a regular item.

These are some of the summer editions, White Edition, and Coconut Edition available worldwide.
Interestingly, the overseas White Edition was originally a seasonal limited product, “Summer Edition 2018 Coconut Berry”, but it was made a regular product and continues to be sold as the White Edition (or Coconut Edition, depending on the region) in Europe and other areas.

The overseas White Edition features a coconut scent and a fruit-mix flavor, which is completely different from the Japanese peach flavor.

Comparison of White Edition Peach and Coconut Flavors

Now, let’s compare the global White Edition with the Japanese White Edition.
Red Bull White Edition Fresh Breeze (Limited Edition in Japan)
On the left is Japan’s White Edition (Fresh Breeze), and on the right is the globally available White Edition (Coconut Berry). This time, I’ve compared it with the German White Edition.

The blue from the coconut stands out strongly. The blue color of the product is matched with the liquid inside, while Japan’s White Peach maintains a color that reflects the peach theme.
Red Bull White Edition Fresh Breeze (Limited Edition in Japan)
Looking at the comparison, I think Japan might have benefited from a more striking pink color. At the same time, the blue from the coconut flavor feels too artificial, creating a bit of an awkward contrast.

Japan’s Fresh Breeze has a refreshing peach flavor, while the overseas Coconut Berry offers a coconut and tropical fruit mix, with a more distinctive coconut aroma that might be a bit polarizing. Personally, I prefer Japan’s peach flavor and feel a bit disappointed that it's a limited edition.

Comparison of Japan’s Fresh Breeze and America’s Peach Nectarine

Before the 2020 release in Japan, let’s compare the Japanese White Edition with the Peach Edition that was released in the U.S. in 2019.

Red Bull White Edition Fresh Breeze (Limited Edition in Japan)
In 2020, not only the 355ml size but also the 250ml Peach Edition was distributed throughout the U.S. Personally, I find the 250ml size too small (;´∀`)

Peach Flavor Comparison

The color of Japan’s White Edition is clearer. The U.S. Peach Edition is cloudy, and you can’t see the bottom of the glass.
Red Bull White Edition Fresh Breeze (Limited Edition in Japan)
When comparing the taste, both offer the same peach flavor, and you’d hardly notice the difference if you didn’t do a side-by-side comparison.

The U.S. version has a stronger sweet-and-sour flavor, and the lingering peach aroma is more intense. Overall, it offers a rounder peach sweetness.

On the other hand, Japan’s White Edition also delivers a solid peach sweetness but feels fresher and more transparent compared to the U.S. version.

There’s no clear winner or loser here—both are incredibly well-made, offering a satisfying peach flavor.

Design Comparison: Japan vs. U.S.

There are a few aspects where I think Japan could have improved its design. Let’s take a look at the can design. As for the product name, “Fresh Breeze” alone doesn’t tell you what flavor it is.
Red Bull White Edition Fresh Breeze (Limited Edition in Japan)
Meanwhile, in the U.S., it’s simply called the “Peach Edition,” and the can clearly labels “Peach Nectarine,” making it much more recognizable.

Many Japanese still don’t realize how delicious energy drinks can be when they’re made with fruit juice flavors. Using an abstract name like “Fresh Breeze” doesn’t give much of a hint about the flavor, so something like “White Peach” might have been more straightforward. Energy drink brands often use abstract names in Japan, but I think it could be clearer.

White Edition’s Non-Sale Boxes Are Impressive

From the 185ml release to the 250ml standardization, many non-sale boxes have appeared. These are available through campaign giveaways, but considering how much effort has gone into them, I hope the 250ml version becomes a long-lasting fan favorite.

★★★★★
