In 2001, while living in the United States, I encountered energy drinks through the dance scene and was deeply impressed. After returning to Japan, I found that energy drinks were considered novelty beverages, so I established a comprehensive website in 2013 to share the true appeal of energy drinks. As an energy drink enthusiast, I began drinking them seriously again, collecting over 7,000 varieties of energy drinks from various countries. I am also active as a critic and expert, receiving media interviews.
Sweet Cotton Candy-like Flavor
Opening the can, a sour apple-like scent wafts out. Huh? It's supposed to be a berry flavor... The liquid is colorless and transparent, typical of fitness energy drinks.
When you take a sip, the flavor is strikingly sweet, almost like artificial sugar water, and it doesn’t resemble a berry flavor at all. There’s no acidity or fruitiness, which contributes to the lack of berry taste. Instead, it leans more toward a cotton candy-like sweetness.
That said, it’s more subdued than actual cotton candy, making it somewhat easier to drink. It would have been better if there was more of a fruity essence.
Since it's sugar-free, the sweetness comes from artificial sweeteners, but surprisingly, there’s no unpleasant aftertaste. This is well done.
If you add ice or chill it too much, the flavor fades and becomes just an overly sweet artificial taste, so keeping it at refrigerator temperature and drinking it slowly might be the best way to enjoy its sweetness.
Although it's colorless, there were yellow solid particles in the drink. They stand out quite a bit, actually. Since it's a carbonated drink, you can’t shake it up either.
Energy Ingredients of REIGN RAZZLE BERRY
Contains 300mg of caffeine, BCAA, and CoQ10. The exact amounts of other energy ingredients are unknown. It's almost like a caffeine drink.
The recommended limit for caffeine is 400mg per day, so REIGN should be limited to one can per day. If you drink coffee, tea, or green tea regularly, be mindful of your caffeine intake. After finishing one can, you’ll definitely feel awake. It’s recommended before exercise or study.
Design of REIGN RAZZLE BERRY
The can has a rough texture with a blue-purple color combination and the REIGN logo. Based on the logo colors, it seems like it’s meant to be a blueberry flavor, but the actual taste doesn’t quite live up to that expectation.
The back features logos showcasing its sports drink functions. This gives off a similar vibe to Monster Energy’s Hydro series.
The rough, black-textured can reminds me of the early designs of the Bang Energy Drink. It definitely gives off a dangerous vibe. Since it contains a high amount of caffeine, be careful not to overconsume. When enjoying REIGN, keep track of your daily caffeine intake.
