Released in April 2023, REIGN launched a new series called "REIGN STORM" with four different flavors. This review is for the Kiwi & Apple flavored REIGN STORM KIWI BLEND.

Unlike the main 473ml series, REIGN STORM is positioned as a wellness-focused lifestyle fitness series, marking a new direction for the brand.

With CELSIUS making its way up to the third position in the U.S. energy drink market and the disappearance of the threat posed by bang, it seems the brand is expanding its white 355ml can series.

Opening the can releases the sweet and sour aroma of kiwi. The fragrance is so rich that you might mistake it for a sugary drink. Now, let's take a sip.

When I take a sip, the flavor of kiwi fruit fills my mouth with a refreshing sweetness, without too much sourness. True to its intense aroma, the kiwi flavor stands out as the main character.

There isn't much of the typical kiwi tartness, but instead, the flavor reminds me of a sweet kiwi candy, which is unexpected for a zero-sugar drink.

The can features green apple as well, but the apple flavor is subtle. The primary flavor is sweet kiwi, with just a hint of apple fragrance. I was curious about the name "KIWI BLEND" given the strong green apple imagery on the can, but after tasting it, I understand why it was named that.

There is a slight aftertaste from the artificial sweeteners, but it's within acceptable limits. For those who aren’t particularly sensitive to the taste of artificial sweeteners, this shouldn’t be an issue.

Looking at the design, it's easy to imagine that REIGN STORM is a new series consciously inspired by CELSIUS.

It's almost eerie how similar they’ve made it. From 2024 onwards, it seems that new products from the REIGN STORM series, closely resembling CELSIUS, will take a larger share of the market. I'm excited to see how this will unfold.
