rhino’s relaxation drink
Rhino’s Energy Drink from Germany has released a relaxation drink. Initially, I thought it would be a one-off product that would disappear quickly, but to my surprise, it has become a long-selling, standard product that has been continuously available for over 10 years!

In 2001, while living in the United States, I encountered energy drinks through the dance scene and was deeply impressed. After returning to Japan, I found that energy drinks were considered novelty beverages, so I established a comprehensive website in 2013 to share the true appeal of energy drinks. As an energy drink enthusiast, I began drinking them seriously again, collecting over 7,000 varieties of energy drinks from various countries. I am also active as a critic and expert, receiving media interviews.
Sweet and Sour Blueberry Flavor
The color of the drink surprised me—it’s gray. Originally, it should have been the purple color typical of blueberries, but after 7 years, it has degraded and faded away.
Upon tasting, the drink has a smooth, sweet-and-sour blueberry flavor with surprisingly strong fruitiness. It’s quite close to Red Bull’s Blue Edition, but this one has an even fresher and juicier blueberry taste that highlights the deliciousness of the blueberry flesh.
There’s no noticeable sense of relaxation from the taste or after drinking it, and of course, there’s no physical effect either.
Personally, I don’t find it suitable for relaxation, but I feel like it would be a refreshing blueberry juice to start your day with in the morning. The functionality may be questionable, but the taste is absolutely excellent.
rhino’s relaxation drink Ingredients
As a relaxation drink, it naturally contains no caffeine. A notable ingredient is the amino acid lysine. This is apparently the main ingredient in Rhino’s Relaxation Drink, but whether lysine can actually help you relax is still quite questionable.
rhino’s relaxation drink Design
This particular version is a campaign product, so it’s not the usual design. The standard version features a white matte can with a blue rhino on it.
This campaign can has colorful illustrations, making it much more vibrant and appealing compared to the standard version.
In the U.S., a version of Rhino’s Relaxation Drink containing theanine was released, but in its home country of Germany, it has been changed to include lysine. Apparently, theanine isn’t allowed in products in Germany.
It’s surprising that a relaxation drink, which could be considered somewhat of a quirky product, has been sold for nearly 10 years under the Rhino brand. The taste is top-notch compared to other blueberry flavors, so it seems like many people buy it for the taste rather than the functional benefits.
Although Rhino is barely active in Germany anymore... if you happen to come across it during your travels, definitely give the relaxation drink a try!
