ROCKSTAR ALCOOLISÉE PUNCHED FRUIT PUNCH

Posted on March 14, 2020 | Last updated February 8, 2025

ROCKSTAR ALCOOLISÉE PUNCHED FRUIT PUNCH
The Rockstar Alcorizé Punched Fruit Punch, released in eastern Canada. Not only does it have an alcohol content of 5.4%, but it also uses malt in the east, giving it a different taste compared to the vodka version from the west. The fruit punch flavor is exceptionally well-balanced in this version.

In 2001, while living in the United States, I encountered energy drinks through the dance scene and was deeply impressed. After returning to Japan, I found that energy drinks were considered novelty beverages, so I established a comprehensive website in 2013 to share the true appeal of energy drinks. As an energy drink enthusiast, I began drinking them seriously again, collecting over 7,000 varieties of energy drinks from various countries. I am also active as a critic and expert, receiving media interviews.

Flavor of ROCKSTAR ALCOOLISÉE PUNCHED FRUIT PUNCH

The bright red fruit punch color. Just by looking at it, you can't tell if it contains alcohol. The alcohol scent doesn't seem that strong either.

When you take a sip, a sweet and sour cherry punch flavor spreads, followed by a mild alcohol flavor, maintaining the fruit punch flavor. The alcohol content is not extremely high, making it easy to drink.

I usually drink the 6.9% Rockstar Vodka from western Canada, so I'm used to the strong vodka flavor overpowering the punch flavor. However, the Alcorizé version doesn't interfere with the fruit punch flavor at all, allowing me to enjoy the sweet and sour taste. This is delicious (๑´ڡ`๑).

People who buy alcoholic Rockstar drinks are probably looking forward to the Rockstar flavor, so a more subtle flavor like this might be more appealing. Personally, I find the Alcorizé fruit punch much easier to drink and I like it better.

Energy Ingredients of ROCKSTAR ALCOOLISÉE PUNCHED FRUIT PUNCH

Since the 2019 launch of the Rockstar Alcohol Series across Canada, the energy ingredients have disappeared. As a result, there are no caffeine or similar ingredients, and the Alcorizé version contains malt.

The vodka version released in the west has an alcohol content of 6.9%, but the Alcorizé version has a relatively lower 5.4% alcohol content, making it easier to drink. Since this product is sold in the eastern part of Canada, where French is mainly spoken, the French labeling is prioritized, highlighting the regional difference.

Design of ROCKSTAR ALCOOLISÉE PUNCHED FRUIT PUNCH

The straight star design prominently features the 5.4% alcohol content. It's unclear why they chose 5.4%, but the straight star design is much more cohesive compared to the previous Big Star design, which looked a bit messy. I’m worried about the direction the main Rockstar brand is taking.

The "Not an Energy Drink" label is present on all products released after the 2019 redesign. Since this product is from the eastern region, the French text comes first.

In the west, alcoholic beverages can only be purchased at liquor stores, but in the east, alcohol is also sold in supermarkets, so this label may be more necessary.

Comparison of Alcorizé and Vodka

The Rockstar Alcorizé Punched Fruit Punch reviewed here is sold in eastern Canada, while the familiar vodka version is available in western Canada.

On the left is the Alcorizé, and on the right is the vodka version. The designs are almost identical, so it’s hard to tell them apart at first glance.

ROCKSTAR ALCOOLISÉE PUNCHED FRUIT PUNCH
The base flavor of the fruit punch is the same, but the vodka version from the west is much richer, and it can be hard to finish the entire 473ml. On the other hand, the Alcorizé has a lighter mouthfeel, making it easier to drink. Personally, I prefer the Alcorizé. If you're heading to eastern Canada, I highly recommend trying the Alcorizé.
