When you take a sip, the first impression is a sweet grape flavor, accompanied by subtle vegetable notes that feel reminiscent of a mixed vegetable and grape flavor.

The berry flavor is quite faint, and the taste is almost entirely grape, which might be disappointing for those expecting a berry mix, as indicated by the product name.

The characteristic tartness of berries is subdued. Both the taste and aroma are lacking punch, creating a somewhat understated flavor.

This quiet and calm flavor actually aligns quite well with the "morning energy boost" concept of the FIRST START series. If you're looking for something to drink in the morning, this more restrained flavor might be just right. It might be somewhat similar in theme to Monster Energy's Rehab series.

What I personally found disappointing was that as I continued drinking, the artificial sweetener's aftertaste became more noticeable, partly due to the low-sugar formula of the ROCKSTAR FIRST START series. It would have been nice if the flavor profile stood out a bit more. After all, this isn't really a "mixed berry" flavor (^_^;)

Comparing the UK and Germany Versions

ROCKSTAR FIRST START MIXED BERRY was released in both the UK and Germany, and since I had purchased both during my trips to Germany and the UK, I decided to compare the two.

The left can is from the UK, and the right can is from Germany. The color and aroma are exactly the same. Typically, when a product is released in different countries, you might expect variations in flavor, aroma, or color, but in this case, they are so similar that it’s hard to tell them apart.

Let's compare them. The conclusion: the flavors are almost identical. While there are subtle differences when you drink them repeatedly, such as variations in tartness or bitterness, in the end, it feels like the same flavor.

The ingredients and their amounts are nearly identical. The slight differences might be due to varying nutritional labeling rules between countries. It seems the contents could be exactly the same.

Energy Ingredients of ROCKSTAR FIRST START MIXED BERRY

Contains 150mg of caffeine, 2000mg of taurine, 50mg of guarana, and 50mg of ginseng.

The juice content is 5%, with the breakdown being 4% white grape, 0.5% raspberry, and 0.5% cassis.

Design of ROCKSTAR FIRST START MIXED BERRY

Here are the UK and Germany versions side by side. Both designs are nearly identical.

The can features a matte finish, with a color scheme that combines pink and purple, representing the mixed berry theme. The bright and vibrant colors might lead you to expect a bold flavor, but the taste itself is rather subdued.

The large star on the side of the can includes the brand name and series name. Since the rebranding with the big star, the front no longer displays the "ROCKSTAR" brand name, which leaves me feeling a bit frustrated. I wish the logo and series name on the side could have been placed on the front as it was before, as it looks quite nice.
