ROCKSTAR Inked Up Tattoo Artist Tin
ROCKSTAR Energy Drink hosted the Inked Up tattoo art event tour, where top artists were selected through voting. Their artwork was then featured on limited-edition can designs like this one.
These cans were never sold to the public and were only available to event affiliates and winners of a special lottery.
One of the Hardest-to-Get ROCKSTAR Energy Drinks
The Inked Up Tour art cans are considered one of the rarest series among ROCKSTAR Energy Drinks. They were produced in 2013 and 2014 during the INKED UP Tour held in the U.S., but the tour has not been held since 2015.
As a result, only two sets from those two years exist today. The total number of cans produced is said to be extremely limited, though the exact number remains unclear. Rumors at the time suggested that only 100 sets were made.
Since they were never sold to the public and very few remain in pristine condition, ROCKSTAR Inked Up CAN ART rarely appears on the market.
Back then, I was lucky enough to get both the 2013 and 2014 sets separately while I was in the U.S.
Shipping a large number of these cans to Japan would have been costly due to their weight, and since the sellers were tattoo artists rather than professional vendors, there was a high risk of damage during international shipping. So, I made two trips to the U.S. to pick them up in person. Thanks to that, I was able to receive them in excellent condition. (●´ω`●)
Every single can is in perfect condition! ( ´∀`)bグッ!
The Contents: Original ROCKSTAR
As you might guess from the pull tab, the contents of these cans are the original ROCKSTAR.
Not every design features a unique flavor, but for an energy drink collector, this is definitely a must-have series.
The Release of Canadian Tattoo Artist Cans
In 2016, Canada saw the release of two limited-edition tattoo artist cans in mega-sized 710ml twist-top bottles. Unlike the U.S. tour cans, these were sold nationwide as a limited-time product. However, instead of being truly limited, they continued to be available until around 2019, although stock gradually dwindled.
Interestingly, one of these designs by Timmy B. was actually reused from the 2014 473ml tour can. While the base color is different, the artwork remains the same.
The other design, featuring a skull by Giana Phillips, also has an original non-commercial tour can version. However, this is one of the rarest artist cans ever—likely produced in extremely low quantities. Some estimates suggest as few as 24 cans exist.
ROCKSTAR Hardcore Apple
The standard U.S. release of Hardcore Apple features a unique design, but it actually borrows artwork from Oliver Peck’s 2013 artist can.
At the time, I speculated that the Hardcore series might expand with more artist-inspired designs. However, as of 2019, no new Hardcore flavors have been released...
There’s still a chance we might see more redesigned versions of standard products in the future!

In 2001, while living in the United States, I encountered energy drinks through the dance scene and was deeply impressed. After returning to Japan, I found that energy drinks were considered novelty beverages, so I established a comprehensive website in 2013 to share the true appeal of energy drinks. As an energy drink enthusiast, I began drinking them seriously again, collecting over 7,000 varieties of energy drinks from various countries. I am also active as a critic and expert, receiving media interviews.
