While most energy drinks in the U.S. are released sugar-free, and traditional energy drink brands like Rockstar have been focusing on sugar-free lines as their flagship products, Canada stands out with its unique approach. The country still sees the release of new products in the ROCKSTAR PUNCHED series, which contain large amounts of sugar, highlighting the distinctiveness of the Canadian market.

When opened, the sweet and sour aroma of strawberry, acerola, and cranberry spreads, giving off a complex scent that suggests it's not just a simple strawberry flavor. Let's take a sip.

Upon tasting, a sweet and sour cranberry flavor mixes with a floral, vibrant taste, creating a fruit punch-like flavor. Because of this, it's not exactly a pure strawberry flavor.

Both the taste and aroma are bold, offering a rich sugar-and-fruit mix flavor.

If rated as a "strawberry flavor," it would receive a low score. However, if evaluated as a fruity punch flavor, regardless of the name, it’s a perfectly enjoyable and tasty drink.

As a fruit punch with plenty of sugar, it’s well-made. But, on the downside, despite multiple attempts, it still doesn't capture the essence of strawberry flavor, which makes me wonder how long this product will be available.

Given the high sugar content, and in light of growing health-conscious trends, I imagine it may be discontinued sooner rather than later.

The U.S. version of the ROCKSTAR PUNCHED series is known for its high caffeine content of 240mg, but due to caffeine content regulations in Canada, the Canadian version has been limited to 160mg.

While the caffeine content is typical for an energy drink, the key concern is the amount of sugar. ROCKSTAR PUNCHED STRAWBERRY contains a hefty 69g of sugar in a 473ml can, which places it on the list of energy drinks with harmful sugar content as seen in the worst energy drinks for your health ranking. One can amounts to 280 kcal, so it’s definitely something to keep in mind and drink in moderation.

The design is the same as the U.S. ROCKSTAR PUNCHED series, with a pink color that evokes the image of strawberries. The design is mirrored on both sides, so no matter which side you look at, you’ll see the same illustration.

Since Canada has two official languages, English and French, the product features dual language labeling. The flavor name is written in English on the left and in French on the right. While the flavor name is listed in both languages, the split design doesn't truly create the sense of "dual listing," which could be seen as a flaw in the Rockstar design.
