When you open this bold can, a sweet mango fragrance spreads pleasantly. With such a rich scent, it's hard to believe it's zero sugar... The fragrance itself makes you wonder what kind of taste it's going to create before even taking a sip! ((o(´∀｀)o))

As you pour it, the scent intensifies, filling the room with a tropical aroma of mango and passion fruit. The color is a bright orange with a slight cloudiness, typical of mango-flavored drinks.

Not expecting much due to the zero sugar content, I was absolutely delighted when I took my first sip! The main flavors of orange and sweet mango intertwine, bringing out the tropical fruitiness. The tartness is not overwhelming, but the slight tanginess balances the sweetness perfectly. I think this is where the passion fruit adds to the tropical fruit flavor, creating a delicious blend.

There is almost no taste of the thinness or artificial sweeteners that often come with zero-sugar drinks. In fact, there is none at all (๑´ڡ`๑). Among the Rockstar PURE ZERO series, both this Mango Orange Passion Fruit and Blue Ice have intense packaging, but the flavors are top-notch.

The unique feature of the PURE ZERO series is that, unlike many other zero-sugar drinks, they manage to present a full-bodied fruit flavor, overcoming the usual weaknesses of zero-sugar drinks. While the series hasn't seen new releases since 2015, I believe if it were to be relaunched with a fresh packaging design, it could sell even more. It’s delicious enough to surpass the limits of zero-sugar drinks (●´ω｀●).

Energy Ingredients of ROCKSTAR PURE ZERO MANGO ORANGE PASSION FRUIT

With 240mg of caffeine, it contains a significant amount. Considering how delicious it is, it’s a bit alarming to realize you've consumed 240mg of caffeine without even noticing. That’s three times the amount in Japan’s Red Bull.
Other ingredients include 2000mg of taurine, 100mg of glucuronolactone, milk thistle, ginseng, and guarana, which make up its energy blend. The packaging design, with its dark, almost ominous vibe, matches the powerful ingredients, making it feel like a "dangerous" drink here in Japan!

However, it’s so tasty that you might end up drinking it all at once... The flavor is perfectly balanced—neither too strong nor too heavy—and personally, I find it to be a flawless taste, so I drank it all in one go. If you're sensitive to caffeine, you may want to be careful.

Although the design feels a bit dated, it still has a cool appeal. Perhaps it's due to the printing technology or color choices, but the outlines are a bit fuzzy, and the gradient feels a bit soft (^_^;)

Since 2014, Rockstar’s designer has changed, and the design for new products in various series has drastically shifted, so I hope that the PURE ZERO series will undergo a redesign as well. It could result in even better packaging.

I would love to see a new design for the Zero Zero series, one that makes the most of the black theme and textured feel ((o(´∀｀)o)). Hopefully, they won’t discontinue the PURE ZERO series before that happens (^_^;)

The version I reviewed has the old design, with a black top and an orange pull tab. Nowadays, it’s switched to an orange top with a black pull tab. I think the metallic orange tab on the black top looks great (ｕ_ｕ*).
