ROCKSTAR relax

ROCKSTAR relax
I don't think this Rockstar Relax qualifies as an energy drink, but since it's from one of the top three energy drink brands in the world, I wanted to make an exception and review it ((o(´∀`)o))

In 2001, while living in the United States, I encountered energy drinks through the dance scene and was deeply impressed. After returning to Japan, I found that energy drinks were considered novelty beverages, so I established a comprehensive website in 2013 to share the true appeal of energy drinks. As an energy drink enthusiast, I began drinking them seriously again, collecting over 7,000 varieties of energy drinks from various countries. I am also active as a critic and expert, receiving media interviews.

Flavor of ROCKSTAR relax

ROCKSTAR relax
When you open it, a tangy plum and tea-like scent immediately fills the air.
The color is a dull orange, and looking at this photo of it poured into a glass, you might think it looks beautiful and delicious. However, all three cans of Rockstar Relax that I opened had a large amount of reddish-brown sediment that looked like rust (^_^;)

ROCKSTAR relax
This is what the sediment looks like when it settles in the glass. I thought there might be a quality issue, but since all the cans had sediment, I think this is just how it is (ヽ´ω`)

There is no carbonation, and the taste is overall very weak, almost like water, with a subtle peach flavor. The label says it has tropical guava flavor, but I barely taste any guava, and it doesn't feel particularly tropical either... Maybe it's because it contains herbs, but the scent and aftertaste are unique, with a flavor very close to tea.

Overall, the taste is quite questionable.

Energy Ingredients of ROCKSTAR relax

ROCKSTAR relax
As stated on the can, Rockstar Relax is made as a relaxation drink, so it does not contain caffeine.
Additionally, it is sugar-free and calorie-free.

The relaxation ingredients unique to Rockstar Relax include 100mg of passionflower, 100mg of rose hips, 50mg of chamomile, 50mg of theanine, and rooibos tea.

Just looking at these ingredients, it's clear that it contains relaxation elements.

Starting with the relaxation ingredients, the overall zero-calorie and zero-sugar composition is quite interesting. Rockstar has a strong reputation for faithfully creating drinks according to their concept. For example, Rockstar Organic.

As for whether Rockstar Relax actually helped me feel relaxed... I didn't really notice any change (;´∀`)

Design of ROCKSTAR relax

ROCKSTAR relax
Nowadays, there are various designs to enjoy, but I think this one made quite an impact back then.
The balance of the Rastafarian colors—black, green, yellow, and red—is great, and the "L" of "Relax" extends all the way up and connects to the yellow tab, which is an interesting visual. The black top gives a nice sense of unity.

By the way, did anyone notice? I think this design has some similarities to a similar energy drink from 2015.

That would be Rockstar Organic. The flavor is also tropical, and the small star on the right side of the can is particularly memorable. Organic is oriented sideways though (^_^;)
Just like Organic, the attention to the ingredients is impressive, with a focus on relaxation elements.

Even though there might not be an actual connection, it's fun to imagine these things, and that's one of the interesting aspects of major energy drink brands ((o(´∀`)o))
