Gentle Cherry Punch Flavor

Upon opening, a sweet and sour cherry punch aroma fills the air. I initially thought this would have a rich flavor, but the liquid inside is a light, pale red. There's quite a gap between the aroma and the color.

When you take a sip, the flavor is a sweet, mild cherry taste, quite different from the strong aroma. It's softer than expected, with no strong acidic punch or intense flavor, and it feels more like a light cherry flavor.

On the other hand, some may feel that the flavor is too light and would have preferred a richer, more satisfying cherry taste. Given the can design, one might expect a taste that's more in line with the name "Killer Cherry," but this is a gentler flavor. It's the type of "taste that doesn't feel like an energy drink" that you often hear about in Japan.

The relatively low sugar content could be influencing the flavor a bit. Still, with nearly 40g of sugar, it's easy to imagine a more intense cherry flavor, so it seems the brand intentionally chose a lighter cherry flavor.

Personally, I can enjoy it by accepting that "this is the flavor of this product," whether it's an energy drink or not. However, for those buying an energy drink at a higher price, most people would likely expect a more energizing flavor or a more satisfying, punchy taste. Since the Revolt series is no longer available, it may not have gained much popularity in Germany.

If the drink had been a rich red with a more punchy cherry flavor, the experience might have been more exhilarating.

This is a classic case of the design and product name outshining the actual flavor. That said, not everything needs to have a strong, intense flavor. In this case, the design was just a bit too overpowering.

Energy drinks and camouflage patterns actually go quite well together, and I think the design really captures the product’s essence.

The Killer Cherry was one of the Revolt series flavors first launched in Germany in 2016. Since then, the series has been revamped and even featured in collaborative design cans, but by 2021, all Revolt products were discontinued in Germany.
