ROCKSTAR REVOLT KILLER GRAPE
The second release in the Rockstar Revolt series, Killer Grape. Launched around the same time as Monster Ultra Violet, both drinks exude an unusually stunning aesthetic (●´ω`●).

In 2001, while living in the United States, I encountered energy drinks through the dance scene and was deeply impressed. After returning to Japan, I found that energy drinks were considered novelty beverages, so I established a comprehensive website in 2013 to share the true appeal of energy drinks. As an energy drink enthusiast, I began drinking them seriously again, collecting over 7,000 varieties of energy drinks from various countries. I am also active as a critic and expert, receiving media interviews.
Flavor of ROCKSTAR REVOLT KILLER GRAPE
Opening the can, a relatively mild grape aroma drifts through. It's a little different from what I expected... I was hoping for a richer fragrance.
Grape flavors really shine when poured into a glass. It looks beautiful!
As for the taste, it's just a standard grape juice flavor.
There's no real fruitiness, and the sweetness is clearly from added sugar, giving a sweet grape flavor with no sourness or bitterness. The sweetness is smooth, and while it's not overly mild, it feels like a natural soda with a grape taste, and before you know it, the can is empty.
There's nothing surprising or shockingly intense about the taste, and it remains a standard, non-fruit juice-like grape flavor, much like Fanta Grape. If you have high expectations, it might be a bit disappointing, but the flavor itself is typical. The fact that this contains 240mg of caffeine is almost alarming; be careful not to drink too much!
Energy Ingredients of ROCKSTAR REVOLT KILLER GRAPE
Contains 240mg of caffeine, 2000mg of taurine, guarana, ginseng, and carnitine.
The 240mg caffeine series requires caution, as combining it with other energy drinks or coffee could easily lead to an overload of caffeine intake (^_^;)
Design of ROCKSTAR REVOLT KILLER GRAPE
The matte texture typical of the Revolt series, combined with the camouflage pattern and purple hues, made a strong impact when it hit the shelves (*´艸`*). At the time of release, Killer Black Cherry was also available, and when all three Revolt series cans were lined up together, it looked stunning. It particularly stood out compared to other Rockstar flavors ( ´∀`)bグッ!
Killer Grape was released with different design variations, including pre-release, standard silver-top purple tab, and black-top purple tab versions, making it a very distinctive release. It's interesting that only Killer Grape got such a variety of designs.
Comparison of ROCKSTAR REVOLT KILLER GRAPE between America and Canada
When I opened the fridge, I found both the American and Canadian versions of Killer Grape, so I thought I'd share my comparison. I probably meant to do the comparison and just forgot about it Σ(´∀`;)
The colors are almost identical. It’s rare to see such similarities between two countries, especially when there are often differences in color or cloudiness. But it's still beautiful~ (*´艸`*)
However, there was a noticeable difference in taste. This might just be a matter of preference, so take it as a reference.
The aroma of the American version is much stronger, with a more intense grape and artificial flavor, while the Canadian version is much milder and doesn’t have as strong of a presence.
This is also reflected in the taste: the American version has a rich gummy-like grape flavor with a powerful aroma, whereas the Canadian version has a more restrained sweetness and milder aroma, making it less impactful. While it’s not bland, compared to the intense American version, it can feel a bit cheap.
That being said, the American Killer Grape is not a luxurious, premium-tasting drink, so there’s really no need to declare a winner. It’s probably better not to compare them at all (^_^;) Both versions are fine, and on a hot summer day, it's probably best to chill them thoroughly and just enjoy drinking them without overthinking it.
In terms of ingredients, they're almost the same. The American version has 240mg of caffeine, while the Canadian version contains a more standard 160mg. The Canadian version is definitely easier to drink. The main downside of the American Revolt series is that after one can, you’ll probably be tempted to avoid other energy drinks or coffee. Personally, I think 160mg is just the right amount.
