This is a review of the ROCKSTAR ROASTED Mocha from Rockstar's coffee energy series. It was first released in the U.S. and later made available in Canada as a staple product.

After being acquired by PepsiCo, the entire coffee energy series was discontinued, and the ROCKSTAR ROASTED Mocha, along with the other coffee-flavored products, was removed from circulation after being available for many years.

Flavor of ROCKSTAR ROASTED Mocha

The aroma is that of a sweet café mocha. The sweet scent from the milk and sugar combines with a faint coffee and chocolate-like fragrance. Is it going to be easy to drink, or will the sweetness of a coffee energy drink be too much? The scent alone had me wondering. In short, it actually smells quite delicious. (；´∀｀)

When you take a sip, there's a rich sweetness, but it's still at a level that even Japanese people can enjoy in a café mocha style. This might be because the amount of milk used is slightly less than in other Roasted series, making it easier to drink.

However, it does have that classic American coffee energy drink feel—“that lingering, rich sweetness” that stays in your mouth. It's definitely different from Japan's coffee drinks. For those who are looking for a sweet, heavy drink, this is perfect.

The Canadian version of ROCKSTAR ROASTED Mocha also has the same mocha flavor and a strong, coffee-like roasted aroma.

It Becomes Even Easier to Drink When Chilled (Of Course)

When you chill it well, the milky sweetness is toned down, and you can enjoy the coffee's richness and aroma, which you couldn’t feel before. This might be quite rare for a coffee energy drink.

Compared to JAVA Monster, the Roasted series is much easier to drink, and in particular, this mocha brings out the mocha flavor in a pleasant coffee energy drink. (w)

Personally, I think it's a good product, but for Americans who’ve been drinking sweet coffee energy drinks for years, I wonder what they would think? (ｗ)

With 225mg of caffeine, it’s on the higher end, along with 2000mg of taurine, 50mg of carnitine, guarana, and ginseng. Rockstar seems to have a good range of classic energy drink ingredients.

Would I Drink ROCKSTAR ROASTED Mocha Regularly?

Although the Roasted Mocha is one of the more drinkable coffee energy drinks from the U.S., if asked whether I would buy it regularly... I’d say it’s still tough.
