The drink I’m reviewing today is the Blue Raspberry from the Rockstar Super Sours series, released in the UK. This series is sold in Europe, including in the UK, Germany, and Poland.

By the way, in the United States, Blue Raspberry is released as part of the Punch series, and not in the Super Sours series.

The color is a bright purple, reminiscent of grape-flavored drinks, with a sweet and sour aroma.

The taste has a cherry-like acidity, with an artificial sweetness. The sourness isn’t overwhelming, and the flavor comes across as a candy-like cherry flavor created artificially with sugar and aroma.

There’s no blueberry or strawberry-like sweetness, acidity, or astringency, and it’s more like an artificially flavored cherry with extra sugar. This is a flavor that’s typical of blue raspberry products, and it’s not particularly a flavor you savor. For me, 500ml feels quite a lot.

On a side note, I had the SUPER SOURS BLUE RASPBERRY rolling around for a long time, thinking I needed to review it. I actually reviewed the German version back in 2015 and had it in my drafts! Σ(´∀｀；)

The review was the same as the one for the UK version I drank: “It’s more like an artificially flavored cherry with strong sourness rather than a berry taste, and it’s a bit disappointing.” It’s funny how my preferences haven’t changed after more than four years.

By the way, blue raspberry is a common artificial flavor in Europe and the US, and it’s similar to the “Blue Hawaii” flavor in Japan, which people may not know exactly but is still a recognizable flavor. Recently, blue raspberry has also been appearing in e-cigarette liquids, so even people who aren’t familiar with energy drinks or sweets might have heard of it.

Contains 150mg of caffeine, 2000mg of taurine, 50mg of guarana, and 50mg of ginseng. It’s unclear if there’s fruit juice, but elderberry and black carrot might be used as coloring agents.

The 72g of carbohydrates is quite a shocking amount. This is definitely a drink to be careful with if you’re not looking to overdo it. Despite the sourness, the sweetness is pretty strong, likely thanks to the large amount of sugar.

In Germany, I’ve had the chance to drink it more often because it’s used in campaign collaboration cans, but I still find the 500ml can too much. I think 250ml would be the perfect size.
