ROCKSTAR SUPER SOURS LIME
Rockstar Super Sour Lime from Germany.
It’s one of the unique European flavors. Since I happened to take some photos of the Spanish lime flavor for the review, I’ll go ahead and review it here as well (●´ω`●)

In 2001, while living in the United States, I encountered energy drinks through the dance scene and was deeply impressed. After returning to Japan, I found that energy drinks were considered novelty beverages, so I established a comprehensive website in 2013 to share the true appeal of energy drinks. As an energy drink enthusiast, I began drinking them seriously again, collecting over 7,000 varieties of energy drinks from various countries. I am also active as a critic and expert, receiving media interviews.
Flavor of ROCKSTAR SUPER SOUR LIME
Opening the can, a citrusy aroma of lemon and lime is immediately noticeable, with a faint scent of tonic water. It’s a refreshing citrus fragrance, almost as if you could imagine the fruit flesh, which is just the kind of scent I enjoy (*´ェ`*)
When poured into a glass, it has a cloudy, recognizable color just as expected.
The taste is intense, with the strong sourness of lemon filling your mouth, followed by a hint of bitterness reminiscent of tonic water. It’s a classic citrus flavor with both strong sourness and a touch of bitterness. The acidity is very sharp, but the intense sourness gives it a satisfying drinkability.
At room temperature, the sourness lingers in your mouth, so it’s hard to enjoy a refreshing feeling. Chilling it thoroughly will bring out a more refreshing taste, and it should be much more enjoyable. If it feels too sour, adding ice will increase the refreshing sensation and make it easier to drink (*´ェ`*)
After finishing, there’s a slight lingering aftertaste of citric acid. If you're not fond of lemon-flavored sourness, this might be too much for you, and the aftertaste is quite unique.
Energy Ingredients of ROCKSTAR SUPER SOUR LIME
Contains 160mg of caffeine, 2000mg of taurine, 50mg of ginseng, and 50mg of guarana, which are standard for Rockstar products.
What’s surprising is that it contains 69g of sugar, which seems hard to believe with such intense sourness (^_^;) The heavy sourness may be due to the sugar content.
The Spanish version of Super Sour Lime shows a high-caffeine label, but the ingredients are the same. Other ingredients are also the same, and the taste is identical too (laughs).
The 250ml version from Poland is the same.
Design of ROCKSTAR SUPER SOUR LIME
The can color, bright yellow, clearly matches the intense sourness, but it feels more like lemon rather than lime (^_^;)
The 250ml can from Poland on the left is labeled “Lemon & Lime” instead of just “Lime,” which probably suits the flavor name better.
Additionally, the Spanish version on the far right features a new design with added green, and I personally prefer this design.
Germany’s version has a black top and black ring tab. It would have looked more polished if it had a yellow tab, but European tabs are somewhat lacking in flair... Still, since 2016, they’ve been stepping up their game, so I’m looking forward to new releases.
The 2015 Spanish version features a green tab. This one’s nice too (●´ω`●)
