Here is my review of ROCKSTAR SUPER SOURS ORANGE, a new addition to the Super Sours series released exclusively in Canada in 2017. It’s a classic flavor that surprisingly hadn’t been part of the Super Sours lineup—until now.

Flavor of ROCKSTAR SUPER SOURS ORANGE

The carbonation is weak, and the scent is similar to Fanta Orange. It doesn’t seem like there will be any particularly complex flavors.

The first thing I noticed when I drank it was that it tasted like a generic $1 orange soda—just a simple, unremarkable orange soda flavor.

There is very little sourness, and no fruitiness. It’s a sweet, refreshing orange soda flavor that closely resembles Fanta Orange.

The aftertaste and aroma are faint, and there’s no lingering aftertaste or any unpleasant notes, making it easy to drink and something that most people will enjoy. However, for those expecting a rich and punchy flavor from an energy drink, this will be a disappointment.

It was surprising that the flavor was so ordinary, and when I first drank it, I was a bit let down. However, after coming back from overseas feeling exhausted and with no appetite but a thirst, I realized just how satisfying a simple carbonated orange soda could be. The mild carbonation and refreshing taste were perfect, and I was able to drink it without thinking much about it. When you’re really tired, it seems that a simple, classic taste is the most satisfying.

That said, the flavor is essentially that of a $1 orange soda, so there’s no need to pay $2 for ROCKSTAR SUPER SOURS ORANGE. Personally, I enjoy the flavor, but when comparing the taste and price balance with other products, I think ROCKSTAR SUPER SOURS ORANGE isn’t the best value for money.

Energy Ingredients of ROCKSTAR SUPER SOURS ORANGE

It contains 160mg of caffeine, 2000mg of taurine, 50mg of inositol, 10mg of ginseng, and 10mg of guarana.

The sugar content is 65g, which is a bit high. Although I thought it was ideal for refreshing, after looking at it again, I realized there’s just too much sugar. (^_^;)

The design, with the Rockstar logo scattered across it, is pop and matches the orange color perfectly. It’s surprising that there wasn’t an orange flavor before. Even in the later REVOLT series, orange flavor was released in Europe.

Currently, it’s only available in Canada. Given the flavor, I always wondered how long it would remain on sale, but it became a big hit in Canada, and production has continued. It has surprisingly become a long-seller.
