STING Energy Drink BERRY BLAST
STING Energy Drink's Berry Blast flavor, available in Vietnam. This flavor is sold in both cans and PET bottles in Vietnam, and the same flavor is also available in PET bottles in Malaysia.
Since the flavor name is the same in both Vietnam and Malaysia, I’ve combined the reviews for Berry Blast into one.

In 2001, while living in the United States, I encountered energy drinks through the dance scene and was deeply impressed. After returning to Japan, I found that energy drinks were considered novelty beverages, so I established a comprehensive website in 2013 to share the true appeal of energy drinks. As an energy drink enthusiast, I began drinking them seriously again, collecting over 7,000 varieties of energy drinks from various countries. I am also active as a critic and expert, receiving media interviews.
STING Energy Drink BERRY BLAST Flavor
The bright red liquid color. A sweet, artificial strawberry-like scent wafts from the can, and I must admit, I hesitate a little before drinking it (^_^;)
When I take a sip, the flavor is like a sweet and sour, thick strawberry syrup with a slight chemical undertone, making it difficult to continue drinking...
It's not like the overly sweet taste of the Vietnam version of STING Gold, but the combination of the sweet and sour strawberry syrup with the chemical flavor makes it feel odd, so personally, I wouldn't want to drink it again.
Additionally, while there was some fizz when I poured it into a glass, the carbonation had completely dissipated by the time I drank it, so there was no refreshing sensation, making it harder to enjoy. Even if it had been strongly carbonated, I don't think the unique syrup-like flavor would have benefited from a refreshing kick.
STING BERRY BLAST from Malaysia
I also opened the Berry Blast from Malaysia. The color is identical to the Vietnam version, but when poured, there was no fizz, and the carbonation was almost non-existent, closer to flat than lightly carbonated.
Let’s compare the two. The base flavor and aroma are almost identical to the Vietnam version, but the sweetness that lingers on the tongue is lighter in the Malaysian version, and you can taste the difference immediately. The chemical aftertaste that lingers after drinking is the same for both, which is something that personally bothers me.
The Malaysian Berry Blast is lighter on the syrupy flavor and easier to drink, but I don’t think I would repeat either version.
Once again, the flavor feels like drinking syrup with weak carbonation and a lack of refreshment, and the added chemical flavor makes it an unpleasantly unhealthy taste for me.
STING Energy Drink BERRY BLAST Energy Ingredients
It contains 62.7mg of caffeine, 66mg of taurine, and 13.2mg of ginseng. The STING Berry Blast has been renewed to include "4-year-old red ginseng," but I’m not sure if that's true.
STING products are known for their excessive sugar content, and Berry Blast is no exception with 64.4g of sugar. This amount in 330ml is insane. Normally, you'd expect this much sugar in a 500ml can.
By the way, the Malaysian version of Berry Blast contains a more reasonable 35g of sugar. This version is more balanced, but if you want to experience an out-of-this-world taste, I recommend trying the Vietnam version of Berry Blast.
Additionally, I later purchased the Cambodian version of Berry Blast, which comes in a 500ml bottle and contains a staggering 95g of sugar per bottle—an extreme level.
STING really shouldn’t be made in 500ml bottles (^_^;)
STING Energy Drink BERRY BLAST Design
The can features an image of a strawberry, but it’s just an image because the flavor is more like an intense syrup concentrate, with no real fruity taste to enjoy. It’s the kind of product where you shouldn't expect any kind of deliciousness. Don't go for STING if you’re seeking a refined taste Σ(´∀`;)
From left to right: Vietnam can, Vietnam bottle, Malaysia bottle.
Since both the Vietnam and Malaysia versions of Berry Blast have the same flavor name, I didn’t write individual reviews for them. However, if you have the opportunity to compare them side by side, you can easily notice the differences. Honestly, comparing STING drinks is tough, though (ヽ´ω`)
In Vietnam, both the can and bottle are sold in 330ml sizes. Since this product has almost no carbonation to begin with, I recommend buying it in a can, as it will be in a better condition without losing the carbonation.

日本でベトナム製品を扱っている店で購入しました。弱炭酸、甘目で、エナジードリンクよりもファンタの炭酸弱めなものに近い味です。飲みやすくておいしいが一番の感想です。
