TIGER ZERO

Posted on June 26, 2024 | Last updated January 28, 2025

TIGER ZERO
I reviewed the original sugar-free version of the TIGER energy drink series, "TIGER ZERO," but in 2024, it was rebranded with a more simplified name to "TIGER ZERO SUGAR CLASSIC," aligning its design with the new "TIGER ZERO SUGAR" series that launched with multiple flavors. As a result, I’ve added a new photo of the updated TIGER ZERO SUGAR CLASSIC.

Here is the old design of "TIGER ZERO."
TIGER ZERO
Until 2023, TIGER ZERO had several variations in labeling, including Zero Classic, Zero Original, and just Zero, depending on the release period and country. Now, let’s dive into a review that includes a comparison of the old and new designs.

In 2001, while living in the United States, I encountered energy drinks through the dance scene and was deeply impressed. After returning to Japan, I found that energy drinks were considered novelty beverages, so I established a comprehensive website in 2013 to share the true appeal of energy drinks. As an energy drink enthusiast, I began drinking them seriously again, collecting over 7,000 varieties of energy drinks from various countries. I am also active as a critic and expert, receiving media interviews.

Flavor of TIGER ZERO

Upon opening, a classic flavor with a slightly stronger tart scent fills the air. The faint chemical odor is a bit different from the full-sugar version. Let's take a sip.
Flavor of TIGER ZERO
As I take a sip, the sweet and sour taste with a chemical note adds to the classic flavor. European original sugar-free versions tend to be more tart and crisp, but TIGER ZERO surprisingly retains a sweet and sour flavor with some weight, making it more satisfying to drink.

In Europe, where sugar-free classic flavors are usually thought of as lacking sweetness, this one stands out with a surprisingly strong taste. The artificial sweetener aftertaste is kept to a minimum, and it's a pleasant drink overall.

The chemical flavor becomes more familiar with each sip, and the tartness of the classic flavor stands out. It’s a sugar-free drink that offers a full-sugar-like taste, perfect for those who enjoy a classic flavor that isn’t typical for Europe.

Energy Components of TIGER ZERO

Energy Components of TIGER ZERO
It contains 80mg of caffeine. The official website mentions taurine is included, but the product itself doesn’t list taurine.

Energy Components of TIGER ZERO
The renewed TIGER ZERO SUGAR CLASSIC retains the same energy components. There are minor fluctuations in trace components, but they are within a negligible range.

Design of TIGER ZERO

First, let’s look at the old design of TIGER ZERO. The white base with blue highlights clearly indicates it’s sugar-free with a classic color combination.
Design of TIGER ZERO
This traditional design includes a black "ZERO" and a prominent red Polish language "Non-Sugar" label, making it easy to understand.

At the time, there were almost no sugar-free flavors, so the simple "ZERO" label worked well. However, since June 2023, sugar-free products have rapidly expanded.

With that, the name changed from "TIGER ZERO" to "TIGER ZERO SUGAR CLASSIC."
Design of TIGER ZERO
Starting around June 2023, the design was updated to match the TIGER ZERO SUGAR series, with a matte texture and a sharper, more noticeable black shadow on the TIGER logo.

Design of TIGER ZERO
Here’s a comparison of the old and new designs. The colors have shifted to softer pastel shades, aligning with the 2023 TIGER ZERO SUGAR series, giving it a slightly different feel.

Design of TIGER ZERO
The matte texture and calm, soft colors give it a more luxurious feel, and personally, I prefer the updated look of the new TIGER ZERO SUGAR CLASSIC.
